The Guns in Van Museum From Ottoman (18 and 19th Centuries)
Abstract
Van Gölü Havzası'nda, gölün doğusunda yer alan Van ili coğrafi ve stratejikönemi nedeni ile tarih boyunca önemli yerleşmelere sahne olmuştur. İl, bu özelliğiniXII. Yy'dan itibaren Türk Döneminde de sürdürmüş; Türk kültür ve sanatını yansıtanbir çok mimari ve etnografik esere sahip olmuştur. XX. yy'da bölgede meydana gelenisyan ve işgaller sırasında büyük ölçüde tarihi yapı tahrip edilmiş olmasına karşın,kültürel mirastan taşınabilir olanlarının önemli bir kısmı günümüze ulaşabilmiştir.Urartu dönemi eserleri ile birlikte söz konusu Türk dönemi eserlerinindebulunduğu Van Müzesi, bünyesinde bulundurduğu 40.000 parça eserle bölgeninönemli kültür merkezlerinden biri konumundadır.Çalışmamızda müzede yer alan XVIII-XIX. yy. Osmanlı silahlarından 31 eserform, malzeme, teknik ve süsleme boyutu ile incelenerek tanımlanmıştır. Çalışmadagenel ve detay fotoğraflarına da yer verilen eserlerin ayrıntılı çizimleri de yapılarakbilim dünyasına tanıtılmıştır.Çalışma sonunda yapılan değerlendirme ve karşılaştırmada, eserlerinsüslemesinde kullanılan motif ve tekniklerin; Türk sanatının diğer alanlarındakiörneklerle benzerlikler gösterdiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
The province of Van, which is the pearl of the Eastern Turkey and has animportant position for the Turkish tourism and history, was the capital of severalcivilizations in Anatolia.The province of Van is in the east of the biggest lake in Turkey. Van is one ofthe most important cities. Between 13.B.C. and 9. B.C. some little kingdoms hadruled in Van, for about 400 years. After this, Urartian Empire had ruled in Van for 250years. They have left some monuments. Espeacilly handicrafts and some architecturalmonuments. The most important monument is Castle of Van.Van Museum was opened, with result some artifacts collected, in 1932. Nowthe Museum has got 40.000 pieces. These are usually from Urartian and OttomanPeriod.The weapons of Ottoman Period have got very special and beautifuldecoration. These weapons are of 18th and 19th centuries. They have all thepeculiarities of these centuries.In the introduction of the study named ? The weapons of the Ottoman Periodin Van Museum? the geographical structure and history of Van were researched andshort information was given about the museum and development and spreading of theweapons in Anatolia were examined. Besides, the fabrication and embroiderytechniques were also researched generally and the best preserved 31 weapons in themuseum were chosen and tried to be described in catalogue.In the expounding and comparison chapters, the fabrication andembroidery peculiarities were explained and the similarities and the differences of theweapons with the other pieces from the Otoman Period were tried to be defined.In the conclusion chapter, the conclusion was explained with referance of theexpuondings.As the final of the study, the bibliography, some constructions and pictures listand photographs were enclosed.
