The Effects of Egg Weight and Extra Oxygen Addition Into the Last Stage of Incubator on Hatching Results in Turkeys at High Altitude
Abstract
Bu çalışmanın amacı yüksek rakımda inkübe edilen farklı ağırlıktaki kuluçkalık hindi yumurtalarında kuluçkanın son döneminde oksijen (O2) eklenmesinin kuluçka sonuçları ve çıkış sonrası performansa etkilerini araştırmaktır. Araştırmada 780 adet kuluçkalık yumurta kullanılmıştır. Yumurtalar tesadüfi olarak iki makineye (Çimuka marka) yüklenmiştir. Kuluçkanın 25-28. günler arası makinelerden birine O2 eklenerek makine içi O2 düzeyi %25 olacak şekilde düzenlenmiştir. Diğer makine kontrol grubu olarak tanımlanmıştır. 28. gün çıkan civciv sayısı tespit edilmiştir. Kuluçkanın 28. gününde çıkış olmayan tüm yumurtalar açılmış, makroskopik olarak incelenmiş ve embriyonik ölümler tespit edilmiştir. Çalışma sonunda, yumurta ağılık grupları yumurta kalite özelliklerinden ak indeksi, kabuk kalınlığını, kuluçka özelliklerinden döllük oranı ve çıkış ağırlığını, kan parametrelerinden ise çıkan civcivlerde kan glikoz düzeyini istatistik olarak önemli derecede etkilemiştir (p<0.05). Kuluçkanın son döneminde O2 eklenmesi kuluçka özelliklerinden çıkış gücünü ve çıkan civcivlerde kalp ağırlığı ve kırmızı kan hücreleri (RBC) düzeyini istatistik olarak önemli derecede etkilemiştir.
The aim of this study was to examine the effects of egg weight and extra oxygen (O2) addition into incubator at high altitude and the last stage on hatching results in turkeys. It was used 780 egg in investigation. All eggs were distributed randomly into two hatching cabinets (Çimuka Company) which were operated. The first cabinet was oxygenated at 25 % whereas no O2 added to the second cabinet between days 25 and 28 incubation and called control group. The number of chicks hatching was recorded day 28. At day 28 of incubation, all unhatched eggs were opened and examined macroscopically for the time of embryonic death. In the result of the study, albumin index an shell thickness in the egg quality characteristics, fertility (%) and hatching chick weight in hatching results, blood glucose level in hatching chicks was significantly affected by egg weight (p<0.05). Fertile hatchability (%), heart weight and (red blood cell) (RBC) in hatching chicks was significantly affected by adding oxygen in incubator at the last stage (p<0.05).
