Investigation of the Contribution of Winter Sports Tourism Potential To the Economy of Muş

Abstract

Turizm, dünya ülkelerinin ekonomisine önemli ölçüde katkı sağlamaktadır. Ülkeler turizmi tüm yıla yayarak alternatif turizm çeşitlerini geliştirmekte ve her mevsim döviz girdisi elde etmeye çalışmaktadır. Özellikle sanayi ve teknolojide geri kalmış şehirlerin kalkınmasında alternatif turizm çeşitleri önemli rol oynamaktadır. Bölge yapılarına göre belirlenen alternatif turizm çeşitlerinden önemli bir de kış spor turizmidir. Bu çalışmada kış spor turizm potansiyelinin Muş'un ekonomisine katkısının araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu alanında uzman kişilerin görüşleri alınarak oluşturulmuştur. Çalışma kapsamında görüşmelerden elde edilen verilerin yanı sıra yerel topluluklar, işletme yöneticileri, uzman akademisyenler ile yöre halkının görüş ve önerileri de alınmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Muş'ta kış spor turizm potansiyelinin olduğu söylenebilir. Ancak bu potansiyelin Muş'un ekonomisine katkı sağlayabilmesi için bölgenin coğrafik şartları dikkate alınarak uluslararası standartlara uygun kış sporlarıyla ilgili tesislerin yapılması öngörülmektedir. Tourism contributes significantly to the economy of the world countries. Countries develop alternative tourism types by spreading tourism throughout the year and try to obtain foreign currency inflows every season. Alternative tourism types play an important role especially in the development of cities that are underdeveloped in industry and technology. One of the alternative tourism types determined according to the regional structures is winter sports tourism. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the contribution of winter sports tourism potential to the economy of Muş. Semi-structured interview technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The semi-structured interview form used as a data collection tool was created by taking the opinions of experts in the field. In addition to the data obtained from the interviews within the scope of the study, the opinions and suggestions of local communities, business managers, expert academics and local people were also taken. As a result of the research, it can be said that there is a winter sports tourism potential in Muş. However, in order for this potential to contribute to the economy of Muş, it is envisaged to build facilities for winter sports in accordance with international standards, taking into account the geographical conditions of the region.
