Investigation of Intenstinal Parasites and Demodex Folliculorum in Patients With Chronic Kidney Deficieney

Abstract

OSKAN G. Kronik Böbrek Yetmezliği Olan Hastalarda Bağırsak Parazitleri ve Demodex folliculorum'un Araştırılması. Y.Y.Ü Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü, Yüksek Lisans Tezi, Van 2011. Bu çalışma Kronik Böbrek Yetmezliği olan ve diyalize giren hastalarda bağırsak parazitleri ve Demodex folliculoruom'un yaygınlığını araştırmak amacıyla 2009 – 2010 tarihleri arasında yapıldı. Çalışmada alınan örnekler ve hazırlanan preparatların mikroskobik incelenmesi Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Parazitoloji Laboratuvarında yapıldı. Bağırsak parazitleri çalışması için 22'si kadın, 18'i erkek toplam 40 kişiden alınan gaita örnekleri natif-lugol, flotasyon ve kinyoun asit fast yöntemleri kullanılarak incelendi. Çalışmaya katılan 18 erkeğin 9'unda (%50), 22 kadının 14'ünde (%63.63), toplamda 40 kişinin 23'ünde (%57.5) bir veya birden fazla parazit türü görüldü. Parazit tespit edilenleri hastalık etiyolojilerine göre değerlendirdiğimizde; hipertansiyon hastalarının %53.33'ünde, diabetus melitus tanısı olanların %63.15'inde, hem hipertansiyon hem de diabetes melitus tanısı olanların %50'sinde parazit tespit edildi. Araştırmada Ascaris lumbricoides 11 (%27.5), Enterobius vermicularis 8 (%20), Entamoeba coli 8 (%20), Blastocystis hominis 5 (%12.5), Entamoeba histolityca / dispar 2 (%5), Giardia intestinalis 2 (%5) kişide saptandı. Demodex folliculorum'un araştırılması için 26'sı erkek, 34'ü kadın toplam 60 kişiden selofan bant yöntemi ile yüz derisinden özellikle burun kökü ve alın bölgesinden alınan numuneler incelendi. Çalışmada erkeklerin 4'ünde (%15.38), kadınların 2'sinde (%5.88), toplam 60 kişinin 6'sında (%10) D. folliculorum tespit edildi. Demodex folliculorum tespit edilen bu 6 kişinin hastalık etiyolojilerine baktığımızda bunlardan 5'inin (%17.85) diabet, birinin ise (%4.34) hipertansiyon hastası olduğu görüldü. Bu çalışmada bağırsak parazitleri ve D. folliculorum yönünden pozitif bulunan kişilerin hastalık etiyolojilerine baktığımızda her ikisinin de özellikle diabet gibi immün sistemin baskılandığı durumlarda daha çok görüldüğü ve bu hastalarda önemli bir sağlık problemi oluşturmaması için dikkate alınması gerektiği kanaatine varıldı. This study was conducted to investigate the prevalence of the intestinal parasites and Demodex folliculorum in the patients with chronic kidney deficiency who receives dialysis treatment 2009 and 2010. Microscopic examination of the samples and the preparates obtained from the study was held in the Laboratory of Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Yüzüncü Yıl University. For intestinal parasites study, faecal samples taken from 40 patients including 22 female and 18 male were examined by using native-lugol, flotation and kinyoun asit fast methods. One or more parasite species were encountered in 23 (57.5%) of 40 patients including 9 (50%) of 18 males and 14 (63.63%) of 22 females. After the evaluation of the patients with the parasites according to the etiology of the disease, intestinal parasites were detected in 53.33% of hypertension patients, 63.15% of the patients with diabetes mellitus and 50% of the patients with both hypertension and diabetes mellitus. The distribution of intestinal parasites was as follows: Ascaris lumbricoides in 11 (27.5%), Enterobius vermicularis in 8 (20%), Entamoeba coli in 8 (20%), Blastocystis hominis in 5 (12.5%), Entamoeba histolityca / dispar in 2 (5%), Giardia intestinalis in 2 (5%) person. For Demodex folliculorum, The samples taken from face especially deep of the nose and fore head by the cellophane tape method from 26 male and 34 female, totally 60 people were examined, out of which 15.38% (4), 5.88% (2) and totally 10% (6) were positive for D. folliculorum, respectively. According to the etiology of the disease, D. folliculorum was found in 17.85% of diabetics and 4.34% hypertension patients. In this study, when considering the disease etiology of the persons found pozitive in terms of intestinal parasites and D. folliculorum, it was concluded that both of them were seen more especially in cases where immune system such as diabetes is suppressed, and that it should be considered in order not to pose a significant health problem in these patients.
