To Determine the Understanding Level of Gas Subject Among the Students in Tenth Class in Van Central High Schools

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, kimyanın önemli ve temel konularından gazlar konusunun, Van merkezde bulunan lise 10.sınıf sayısal öğrencilerinin anlama düzeyini tespit ederek, bu düzeyin artırılması için yapılması gerekenlere katkıda bulunmaktır. Bu gaye ile Van merkezde bulunan dört farklı okul türünden toplam 186(merkezdeki 10.sınıf sayısal öğrencilerin % 14 üne tekabül etmektedir) öğrenci üzerinde 11 ana başlık altında 40 soruluk bir test çalışması yapıldı.Genel olarak öğrencilerin %53.5 oranında başarı gösterdiği çalışmada, okul türleri bazında; tercihli lise öğrencilerinin %64.8, genel lise öğrencilerinin ise %18.4 oranında başarılı olduğu görülmüştür.Sonuç itibariyle, gazlar konusunun yeterince anlaşılmadığı. Başarıyı artırmak için, kavrama düzeyi düşük konuların özelliğine göre; Günlük hayatla ilişkilendirmek suretiyle güncelleştirilmesi, bol doküman ile soru çözülmesi, konuların deneylerle desteklenmesi ve öğrencilerin işlem kapasitelerinin artırılması adına matematik zümre öğretmenleriyle işbirliği yapılması gerektiği tespit edilmiştir.Anahtar kelimeler: Kavram, Gaz, Difüzyon, Yoğunluk, Manometre, Kinetik, Genel gaz denklemi, Sıvı-buhar basıncı, Anlaşılma düzeyleri.

The aim of this study is to determine the understanding level of gases subject, that is important and a main subject in chemistry, among the students in tenth class in van central high schools and to contribute rising this level. For this, a test consist of 40 questions under 11 main title has been done among 186(this is equivalent to%14 of numerical students in tenth class in central of Van Province) students from four different type of school in central of Van Province.In general, % 53.5 of students has succeeded in this study, among the schools; preferred school students has had a success of % 64.8 rate and it has been a rate of %18.4 among students in ordinary high schools.In conclusion, it has been understood that gases subject has not been understood enough and it has been determined that to rise the success, according to the subject specialties of which understanding level is low, the subject must be updated by relating to the daily life, a lot of questions about the subject must be solved, the subject must be supported by experiments, and to improve the capacity of the students for operation, cooperation with the math teacher must be done.Key words: Concept, Gas, Diffusion, Density, Manometer, Kinetic, General gas equation, Liquid- steam pressure, Understanding levels.
