Investigation of Nictic Oxide Oxidation Products and the Activities of Catalase and Carbonic Anhydrase in Sheep With Fluorosis
Abstract
İnsan ve hayvanlarda genellikle kemik ve diş oluşumunu olumsuz yönde etkileyen florozis, Van ve Ağrı yöresinde önemli bir sağlık problemidir. Endemik floroziste nitrit, nitrat, katalaz ve karbonik anhidraz düzeylerini araştırmak amacıyla yapılan bu çalışmada 3-4 yaşlarında 20 florozisli ve aynı yaş grubundaki 10 sağlıklı koyunu materyal olarak kullanıldı. Hasta olarak tanımlanan kronik florozisli grupla, sağlıklı olarak tanımlanan kontrol gruplar arasında katalaz enziminin değerleri; 11,23 - 1,72 dir. Katalaz enzim aktivitesinin florozisli grupta önemli (p<0.001) oranda düştüğü görülmektedir. Karbonik anhidraz enziminin değerleri; 0,39 - 2,13'dir bu düzeyler p<0.001 oranında istatistiksel önem göstermiştir. Karbonik anhidraz enzimi düzeylerinin florozisli koyunlarda önemli oranda yükseldiği görülmüştür. Nitrit ve nitrat düzeylerinde kontrol ve hasta gruplarında anlamlı bir değişim olduğu görüldü. Bu değerler sırasıyla, 0.51 - 0.84 ve 2.31 ? 3.32 ppm olarak bulundu. Bu parametrelerin florozisli koyunlarda kontrol grbuna göre önemli derecede artmış olduğu saptandı. Sonuç olarak, bölgemizde hala önemli bir şekilde florozis olaylarına rastlanmakta, insanlar ve hayvanlar için sağlık problemi olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre florozisli koyunlarda nitrik oksit oksidasyon ürünleri, karbonik anhidraz ve katalaz enzim aktivitelerinin önemli oranda etkilendiği saptanmıştır.Anahtar Sözcükler: florozis, koyun, nitrik oksit oksidasyon ürünleri, katalaz, karbonik anhidraz
Fluorozis, usually effects the formation of bone and teeth in human and animals, is an important health problem in Van and Ağrı region. This study was carried out to find out the levels of nitrite, nitrate and the activities of the catalase and carbonic anhydrase in sheep with endemic fluorosis as research material 3-4 years old 20 fluorotic and 20 healthy Morkaraman sheep were used. Defined as a patient with chronic florozisli groups and healthy control groups, defined as the average value; catalase enzyme values: 11.23 to 1.72?dir. Catalase enzyme activity in the fluorosis group was found to be decreased whereas carbonik anhydrase enzyme values in the same group was observed to be increased significantly (p <0.001) compared to control groups. Nitrite and nitrata levels were in the control group 0:51, and 0.84 and 2:31 and 3:32 in the patient group. These results showed a remarkable increases of these levels in the patinet. As a result, there have been considerable incidence of fluorosis in our country and this leads to important health problems for human beings and animals. According to findings, the products of nitric oxide oxidation in sheep with fluorosis, the activities of carbonic anhydrase and catalase have been considerable affected.Key Words: Fluorosis, sheep, nitric oxide oxidation products, catalase, carbonic anhydrase
