Abstract
This research was conducted at Department of Field Crops in Faculty of Agriculture inYüzüncü Yıl University in 2014 , in the growth chamber under controlled conditions in terms oftemperature and light, for 5 bread wheat varities (Doğu-88, Altay-2000, Bezostaja1, Alparslan and Tirmixed population line), for two different irrigation levels (using 40% of the field capacity for droughtand 60% for control), through the application of two different salicylic acid dosage (0.1 mM kg-1SA and 1.0 mM kg-1SA), with four repetitions in 80 pots with 4 kg soil capacity, with respect torandomized experimental design principles. In terms of the investigated characteristics, salicylic acidapplications were found to be effective for the Bezostaja1, Doğu-88, Altay-2000 varieties and Tirwheat population line by enhancing their tolerance to drought and exhibited differences with respect tothe salicylic acid doses (0.1 mM kg-1and1.0 mM kg-1). The characteristics, which were adverselyaffected when compared to the control application under drought conditions, were commonlypositively affected by the salicylic acid applications.
