On the Qualitative Behaviors of Solutions of Certain Differantial Equations of Second and Third Order

Abstract

Bu tez dört bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışma boyunca Lyapunov fonksiyon yaklaşımı temel bir araç olarak kullanılmaktadır.İlk bölümde belli biçimdeki ikinci ve üçüncü mertebeden diferansiyel denklemlerin çözümlerinin niteliksel davranışları ile ilgili olarak literatürde yapılan bazı çalışmalar hakkında bilgiler verildi. İkinci bölümde, tezin sonraki bölümlerinde ortaya çıkacak olan bazı temel bilgiler verildi. Üçüncü bölümde bazı belli ikinci mertebeden diferansiyel denklemler göz önüne alındı ve bu denklemlerin çözümlerinin yakınsaklığına dair yapılan bazı çalışmalar aktarıldı. Tezin son bölümünde ise üçüncü mertebeden diferansiyel denklemlerin çözümlerinin yakınsaklığı üzerine literatürde yer alan bazı önemli sonuçlar göz önüne alındı.This thesis consists of four chapters. It is worth mentioning that throughout in what follows, the Lyapunov function approach is used as a basic tool.In the first chapter, we summarized some works made on the qualitative behaviors of solutions of certain second and third order differential equations in the literature. In the second chapter, we introduced some background information which arises throughout the next chapters of this thesis. In the third chapter, we considered some certain nonlinear differential equations of second order. We took into consideration some works on the convergence of solutions of these equations. In the last chapter, we introduced some important results in the literature on the convergence of solutions of certain differential equations of third order.
