Investigation of the Effect of Learning Environment Supported by Different Teaching Activities on Sustainable Development

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, farklı öğretim etkinlikleri ile desteklenmiş öğrenme ortamının sürdürülebilir kalkınma konusu üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktır. Çalışmada karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Çalışma grubu 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Van ilinin Edremit ilçesine bağlı bir merkez ortaokulunda öğrenim görmekte olan 32 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada nicel veriler, 'Sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya yönelik tutum ölçeği (SÜKTÖ)' ve 'Sürdürülebilir kalkınma ya yönelik başarı testi ile toplanmıştır (SÜKYÖBAT)'. Nitel veriler, 'Yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat formu' ile toplanmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen nicel veriler normal dağılım göstermediğinden dolayı non-parametrik (parametrik olmayan) testlerden Wilcoxon Signed Ranks testi uygulanmıştır. Nitel veriler ise içerik ve betimsel analize tabi tutularak analiz edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin sürdürülebilir kalkınmayı benimseyerek günlük yaşamda karşılaştıkları sorunlara çözüm üretmeye başladıkları görülmüştür. Hazırlanan etkinlikler öğrencilerde sürdürülebilir kalkınmaya yönelik olumlu tutum geliştirmiştir. Ayrıca sürdürülebilir kalkınma konusundaki akademik başarılarında artış olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Uygulama esnasında kullanılan etkinliklerde öğrencilerin günlük hayatta karşılaştıkları sorunlara çözüm üretebildikleri görülmüştür. Sürdürülebilir kalkınmanın öğrenciler ve toplum tarafından benimsenip uygulamaya geçirilmesi için, bu konunun öğretilmesinde temel basamak olan ilkokul ve ortaokul düzeyinde çalışmaların yapılması önerilmektedir. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of learning environment supported by different teaching activities on subject sustainable development. It has been used mixed methods in the study. The study group consists of 32 student's studying at secondary school in Edremit, Van province of 2018-2019 academic years. In this study quantative data were collected with attitude scale towards sustainable development and achievement test for sustainable development. Qualitative data were collected by semi-structured interview form. Quantative data obtained in the study; It has been applied non paramedic Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test because the quantative data didn't Show normal distribution. Qualitative data have been analyzed by content and descriptive analysis. It has been seen that students have started to produce solutions to the problems that they faced in Daily life by adopting attitudes towards sustainable development among students. Also it has been founded that there is an increase in their academic achievements in sustainable development. It has been seen that students are able to produce solutions to the problems faced in Daily life in the activities used during the execution.It has been suggested that primary and secondary school levels studies which are the basic step in teaching this subject should be carried out for the adoption and implementation of sustainable development by students and society.
