Abstract
This study was done to assessment of reproductive development. Hormone assay and examination of vaginal cytology were been basic method. Male 6 and female 6 kittens were used as animal metarials. The body weight of animals were measured in time of bird and adult. Hormone assays were done in the Gamma Counter. The mean blood estrogene level was measured as 35 pg/ml before puberty, as 296 pg/ml after puberty. The mean blood testosterone level was determined as 1 pg/ml approximately. According to results of examination of vaginal cytology, basal and parabasal cells were more dominant to intermedier and süperficial cells in before puberty, opposite in after puberty. In the bird time, the body weight of kittens was measured as 256.333 ± 9.156 and 237.166 ± 14.536 gr in the females and males, respectively. The body weight of adults was measured as 1.773 ± 0.812 and 3.366 ± 0.161 kg females and males. Thus, it was concluded that the repeoductive developments can be evalute with hormone assay and vaginal cytology in the Van cats.
