Investigation of Catalase, Carbonic Anhydrase Enzyme Activities and Some Minerals, Trace Elements and Heavy Metals Levels in Patients With Primary and Metastatic Liver Cancer
Abstract
Bu çalışmada, Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Onkoloji Anabilim Dalında primer ve metastaz karaciğer kanseri tanısı konulmuş toplam 40 hasta ve sağlıklı 29 kişiden alınan kanlar materyal olarak kullanıldı. Kanserli hastalar ile sağlıklı bireylerin serumlarında, element düzeyleri ile katalaz ve karbonik anhidraz enzim aktiviteleri tayin edildi. Primer ve metastaz karaciğer kanserli grupta serum bakır, magnezyum, mangan, çinko düzeyleri kontrol grubuna göre daha düşük bulundu (p<0.05). Buna karşın, serum demir, kobalt, kadmiyum ve kurşun düzeyleri ise hasta grubunda, kontrol grubuna göre daha yüksek saptandı (p<0.05). Ayrıca serum katalaz düzeyi, primer ve metastaz kanserli grupta, kontrol grubuna göre daha düşük, karbonik anhidraz düzeyi ise daha yüksek saptandı (p<0.05).Anahtar kelimeler: Primer ve metastaz karaciğer kanseri, Katalaz, Karbonik anhidraz, Eser element, Ağır metal
In this study, it was used blood samples from total of 40 patients diagnosed with primary and metastatic liver cancer and 29 healthy subject in Oncology Department of Medical School of Yuzuncu Yil University. The element levels, catalase and carbonic anhydrase enzyme activities were determined in serum of cancer patients and healthy subjects. It was found serum copper, magnesium, manganese and zinc levels lower at the primary and metastatic cancer group than the control group (p<0.05). Although this serum iron, cobalt, cadmium and lead levels were higher in patient group than thecontrol group (p<0.05). In addition, it was found serum levels of catalase lower in primary and metastatic cancer group than the control group and serum levels of carbonic anhydrase is higher in primary and metastatic cancer group than the control group (p<0.05).Key words: Primary and metastatic liver cancer, Catalase, Carbonic anhydrase, Trace element, Heavy metal
