Abstract
Cryptosporidiosis is a disease controlled by age and immune system. In newborn calves, progresses in a mixed manner with bacterial (E. Coli, ETEC-K99, Salmonella spp., Camplyobacter spp.) viral (coronavirus and rotavirus) infections. Although 30 Cryptosporidums have been reported to date, four species, Cryptosporidum parvum, C. bovis, C. ryanae and C. andersoni, are common in cattle of these, C. parvum is a zoonotic species and infects humans as well. Animals to be studied, in cattle holdings in modern farms and village barns in Van city and its surroundings calves up to six months old. The prevalence of Cryptosporidum in calves up to six months old will be determined by the ELISA method. In terms of being a zoonotic protozoal infection, there is a need for molecular genetic studies to identify, typify and subtype the responsible species.
