Testing the Effects of Students' Attitude Toward the Lesson Based on Computer Aided Teaching in the Field of Physics Chemistry Biology and Mathematics by the Method of Meta Analysis

Abstract

Ülkemizde bilgisayar destekli öğretimin etkililiği üzerine gerçekleştirilen araştırma sayısı her geçen gün artarak devam etmekte, literatürde birbirinden bağımsız ve farklı sonuçlara ulaşmış birçok araştırmaya rastlanmaktadır. Bu bilgi yığını içerisinde araştırmaların sonuçlarının hedef kitleye ulaşmasında sıkıntılar yaşanmaktadır. Bu birbirinden bağımsız çalışmaları bir çatı altında derleyen, çalışmaların verilerini birleştirerek örneklemi arttıran ve bu örneklem üzerinden daha genel yorumlar yapan meta analiz yöntemi bu sıkıntıları ortadan kaldıran bir yöntem olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, 2002?2011 yılları arasında fizik, kimya, biyoloji ve matematik alanları eğitiminde yapılmış, bilgisayar destekli öğretimin tutuma etkisinin, geleneksel yöntem ile karşılaştırıldığı nicel çalışmalar incelenmiştir. Konu ile ilgili 142 yüksek lisans ve doktora, 45 makale ve bildirinin bulunduğu çalışma havuzundan dahil edilme kriterlerine uygun 56 adet çalışma meta analiz yöntemiyle birleştirilmiştir. 4761 tane deneğin örneklemi oluşturduğu 78 tane veri meta analiz yöntemi ile birleştirilmiş ve toplam etki büyüklüğü hesaplanmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda, bilgisayar destekli öğretim yönteminin tutuma olan etki büyüklüğü 0,2627 olarak bulunmuştur. Bulunan değerin, Thalheimer ve Cook tarafından yapılan sınıflandırmaya göre küçük (small) etkiye sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Fizik, kimya, biyoloji ve matematik alanları eğitiminde bilgisayar destekli öğretimin öğrencilerin derse karşı tutumları üzerinde geleneksel yöntemle karşılaştırıldığında bilgisayar destekli öğretim lehinde bir etkisi olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ulaşılan sonuçlar doğrultusunda uygulamaya ve araştırmacılara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.Anahtar kelimeler: Fizik Eğitimi, Kimya Eğitimi, Biyoloji Eğitimi, Matematik Eğitimi. In Turkey, the number of researchings on computer based teaching effects continue to increase day by day, and it is found that there are many research which are independent of each other and have different conclusions. In this mass of facts It is experienced that there are a lot of difficulties about getting the result of researches to reach the target audience. Meta-Analysıs Method is known as a method that eliminate problems by getting independent researches together , combining obtained data by increasing examples and by using these examples to make more general comments. In these researches, from 2002 to 2011 years; quantitative studies which are made in the field of physic, chemistry, biology and computer-aided teaching which is compared to the traditional method are examined.142 masters and doctorate, 45 articles and proclamation are combined by the method of 56 meta-analysis studies which have appropriate criterias to be a part of the work pool. 78 data which 4761 reagents formed have been unified with the meta analysis method and the total effect size has been counted. As a result of the research; the effect size of computer-aided teaching method to the attitude has been found as 0,2627. It has been determined that the value that has been found has a small effect according to the classification by Thalheimer and Cook. When compared to traditional methods it has been found that computer-aided teaching has an effect on the students? attitude towards the lesson such as physics, chemistry, biology and maths in favor of computer-aided teaching.Key Words: Physics Education, Chemistry Education, Biology Education, Maths Education, Computer ?Aided Education, Meta Analysis, Attitude.
