Determination of the Parents' Expectations From the Science Teachers About the Affective Field

Abstract

Bu araştırma, değişim ve gelişmede topluma öncülük yapacak olan öğretmenlerden, öğrenci velilerinin Fen Bilimleri öğretmenlerinden duyuşsal alanla ilgili beklenti özelliklerinin ne olduğunu ve nasıl olması gerektiğini tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, Van merkezde yer alan; 15 Temmuz Şehitleri İmam Hatip Ortaokulu'ndan 60, Zeve Ortaokulu'ndan 80, Bardakçı Ortaokulu'ndan 50, Fevzi Şengüller Ortaokulu'ndan 60 ve Mustafa Kemal Ortaokulu'ndan 70 toplamda beş farklı ortaokulunda yedinci ve sekizinci sınıfta öğrenim gören 320 öğrenci velileri ile yürütülmüştür. Öğrenci velilerinin öğrencisinin dersine giren Fen Bilimleri Öğretmenlerinden duyuşsal alanla ilgili özelliklerin beklentisi konusunda 5'li Likert tipi 'Duyuşsal Alan Tutum Ölçeği (DATÖ)' ve ''Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Formu'' kullanılmıştır. Nitel verilerin çözümlenmesinde içerik ve betimsel analizden yararlanılmıştır. Veliler Fen Bilimleri öğretmenlerinden, öğrencilerine örnek olacak toplumun kadim değerleriyle barışık ve uyumlu öğretmen profiline sahip olmalarını ve bu özellikleri de akademik başarıdan daha fazla dikkate alarak öğrencilere anlatarak değil, bir fiil yaşayarak kazandırmalarını beklemektedirler. Öğretmenlerin ortaokul 7. ve 8. Sınıf öğrencilerine ne kadar rol model olduğu ile ilgili daha detaylı çalışmalar yapılabilir.

This research, aims to identify the characteristics that parents expect from science teachers about the affective field from teachers who will lead the community in change and development and how they should be. The research was conducted with 320 parents of students who were educated in seventh and eighth grades in five secondary schools in Van; 80 students from Zeve Secondary School, 50 students from Bardakçı Secondary School, 60 students from 15 Temmuz Imam Hatip Secondary School, 60 students from Fevzi Sengüller Secondary School and 70 students from Mustafa Kemal secondary school. 5 Likert type 'Affective Space Attitude Scale (ASAS)' and Semi-Structured Interview form were used on the expectation of Affective field characteristics from the parents of the science teachers who entered the course of the student. Content and descriptive analysis were utilized in the analysis of qualitative data. Parents expect science teachers to have a profile of teachers who are at peace with the ancient values of the society to be an example to their students, and to gain these characteristics by experiencing a verb rather than by explaining it to the students, taking into account academic success.
