dc.description.abstract In this study analgesic effect of Pimpinella anisum essential oil extract were investigated in mice. In all the experiments mice were tested twice, 30 min before drug administration and 30, 90 and 150 min after drug administration by tail-flick device. Aspirin (100 mg/kg, peroral) and morphine hydrochloride (10 mg/kg, subcutan) were used as reference standard, it was determined that all of the study groups (except morphine group) had significantly analgesic effect when compared with control groups. There was no difference between aspirin and Pimpinella anisum essential oil groups. It was concluded that Pimpinella anisum essential oil had statistically higher significant analgesic effect similar to morphine and aspirin at the 90th min and with Aspirin at the 150 th min of the study. en_US
