Mine Kitchen Items of the Ottoman Period in the Van Museum

Abstract

Van ili, Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde yer alan ve havzaya adını veren Van Gölü'nün etrafına yerleşmiş ve Urartulara ev sahipliği yapmış bir şehir olma açısından önem taşımaktadır. Bölgede bilinen en eski yerleşme, Urartu döneminde başkent olan Tuşpa'dır. Van ili geçmişten günüme kadar farklı uygarlıklara ev sahipliği yapmış ve maden sanatı açısından önemli bir merkez konumundadır. Urartular, maden sanatında gösterdikleri zengin işçilikleri gerek Van gerekse Doğu Anadolu Bölgesine sağladığı katkıları günümüzde halen etkisini devam ettirmektedir. Anadolu'nun her yöresinde olduğu gibi Van yöresinde de maden sanatı nadirde olsa geçmiş izlerini devam etmektedir. Müzeler, geçmişte yaşayan uygarlıklardan kalan maddi taşınabilir kültür varlıklarını günümüze taşıması açısından büyük bir rol üstlenmektedir. Bu bilgiler doğrultusunda Anadolu'nun farklı yörelerinde yer alan birçok müzede sergilenen eserler bizim için birer belge niteliğindedir. Van Müzesi de diğer müzelerde olduğu gibi kıymetli eserleri hem bölge halkına hemde dışardan gelen ziyaretçilere sergi salonlarını açması ve onlara bilgi aktarması açısından önemli müzelerden biridir. Van Müzesindeki bu kıymetli eserler geçmişe tanık olmakla beraber günümüzde akademik alanda katkı sağlamakta ve bilime ışık tutmaktadır. Van Müzesi, Osmanlı dönemine ait madeni eserleri de koruması açısından büyük bir önem taşımaktadır. ''Van Müzesi'nde Bulunan Osmanlı Dönemine Ait Madeni Mutfak Eşyaları'' başlığı altında incelenen bu çalışma ilk olarak Van ilinin Coğrafi Konumu, Tarihçesi, Müzecilik, Van Müzesi, Maden Sanatının Anadolu'daki Gelişimi, Yapım ve Süsleme Teknikleri detaylı bir şekilde açıklanmıştır. Müzenin etnografya deposunda bulunan 83 eser form, teknik ve süsleme olarak detaylı olarak incelenmiş, fotoğraf ve envanter kayıtları alınarak katalog kısmında detaylı bir şekilde açıklanmıştır. Müzenin Etnografya deposunda incelenen eserlerin ölçüleri belli disiplin çerçevesinde çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Değerlendirme ve karşılaştırma kısmında teze konu olan eserler kendi aralarında değerlendirilip, eserler farklı çalışmalara dâhil edilen farklı müzedeki eserlerle karşılaştırılmıştır. Çalışmanın son bölümünde incelenmiş eserlerden elde edilen bilgilerle bir sonuca ulaşılmış, çizim ve fotoğraflar çalışmanın sonuna eklenmiştir.

Van province is important in terms of being a city that has settled around Lake Van, which is located in the Eastern Anatolia Region and gave its name to the basin, and hosted the Urartians. The oldest known settlement in the region is Tuspa, which was the capital during the Urartu period. The province of Van has hosted different civilizations from the past to the present and is an important center in terms of mining art. The rich craftsmanship of the Urartians in the art of metalworking, their contribution to both Van and the Eastern Anatolia Region still continues to be influenced today. As in every region of Anatolia, the art of metal continues in the Van region, though rarely, its traces of the past. Museums play an important role in bringing the tangible and movable cultural assets from the civilizations living in the past to the present. In line with this information, the works exhibited in many museums in different regions of Anatolia are a document for us. As in other museums, Van Museum is one of the important museums in terms of opening exhibition halls and conveying information to the local people and visitors coming from abroad. Although these precious works in Van Museum witness the past, they contribute to the academic field and shed light on science today.Van Museum is of great importance in terms of protecting the metal artifacts belonging to the Ottoman period. This study, which was examined under the title of 'Ottoman Period Metal Kitchenware Found in Van Museum', firstly explained in detail the Geographical Position, History of Van Province, Museology, Van Museum, Development of Mining Art in Anatolia, Production and Decoration Techniques. 83 artifacts in the ethnography warehouse of the museum were examined in detail in terms of form, technique and equipment, and they are extensively in the catalogs of the photography and inventory archives. The dimensions of the works examined in the Ethnography warehouse of the museum were included in the study within a certain discipline. In the evaluation and comparison part, the works subject to the thesis were evaluated among themselves and the works were compared with the works in different museums that were included in different studies. In the last part of the study, a result was reached with the information obtained from the examined works, drawings and photographs were added to the end of the study.
