The Fundemental Electrical Characteristics of Diods Throwing on the Market

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasında, üretici firma isimleri gizli tutularak piyasada pazarlanan bazı diyotların temel elektriksel karakteristiklerini ( doyma akım yoğunluğu, idealite faktörü ? ) incelemek üzere akım-voltaj (I-V) ölçümleri alındı. Akım-Voltaj ölçümlerinden elde edilen karakteristik parametreler, üretici firmanın o diyot hakkında verdiği katalog değerleri ile karşılaştırıldı. Diyotlara ait akım-voltaj grafikleri incelenerek, doğrultucu özellik gösterip göstermedikleri araştırıldı. Akım-Voltaj ölçümleri alınan bütün diyotların doğrultucu özellik gösterdikleri tespit edildi. Diyotların idealite faktörü değerleri ise n=1.02 ile n=1.67 aralığında olduğu tespit edildi. Belli voltajlara karşılık diyotların doğru beslem durumunda çektikleri akım değerleri, üretici firmaların verdiği akım değerlerinden farklılıklar arz etmektedir. Bu farklılıklar; genellikle ölçümlerimiz sonucunda elde ettiğimiz akım değerinin, üretici firmanın verdiği akım değerinden daha küçük olduğu şeklinde ortaya çıkmıştır.

In the study of this thesis, by keeping hidden the name of the producer firm, the measurements of the current-voltage (I-V) was carried out to investigate the fundamental electrical characteristics ( Saturation current density, ideality factor ? ) of the diodes putting on the market. The characteristics parameters obtained from the current-voltage ( I ? V ) measurements were compared with the catalog values given by the producer firm. By studying the current-voltage characteristics of the diodes, the rectifier properties of the diodes were investigated whether the diodes show the rectifier characteristics or not. It was seen that all the diodes carried out current-voltage measurements behave like the rectifier diodes. The values of the ideality factor were determined at the range from n=1.02 to n=1.67. The values of the forward bias current passing through the diodes at a known voltage are shown differences than the values of the current given by the producer firm. The differences were appeared as the value of the current measured by us is often smaller than the value of the current given by the producer firm.
