A Research on High School Students for Determining the Learning Level of Some Geometrical Concepts in Lycee-1 Geometry Classes

Abstract

ÖZETLİSE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN GEOMETRİ-1 DERSİNDE GEÇEN BAZIKAVRAMLARI ÖĞRENME DÜZEYLERİ ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMAKESİCİ AhmetYüksek Lisans Tezi, Matematik Anabilim DalıTez Danışmanı: Prof. Dr. Cemil TUNÇTemmuz 2005, 57 sayfaLise öğrencilerinin, Geometri-1 dersi müfredatında yer alan bazı kavramlarıöğrenilme düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla hazırlanan bu çalışma beş bölümdenoluşmaktadır.Birinci bölümde araştırmanın problemi, önemi ve sınırlılıkları verilmiştir.İkinci bölümde literatür taraması yapılmış, geometrinin tarihsel gelişim süreci vebazı geometriler araştırılmıştır. Ayrıca geometri öğretimi ve Türk Milli EğitimindeOrtaöğretim kurumlarındaki geometri öğretimi ile ilgili bilgilere yer verilmiştir.Üçüncü bölümde aştırmada kullanılan yöntem ile ilgili bilgilere yer almaktadır.Dördüncü bölümde Siirt İlindeki bazı liselerde uygulanan testler ile elde edilenbulgulara ve bulguların yorumlamasına yer almaktadır. ABSTRACTA RESEARCH ON HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FOR DETERMINING THELEARNING LEVEL OF SOME GEOMETRICAL CONCEPTS IN LYCEE-1GEOMETRY CLASSESKESİCİ AhmetMsc, Mathematics DepartmentSupervisor: Prof. Dr. Cemil TUNÇJuly 2005, 57 pagesThis study, which has been prepared to determine the high school studentslearning level in terms of some geometrical concepts taking up in high school 1curriculum, consists of five chapters.In the first chapter, the problem, importance and the limitations of theresearch have been given. In the second chapter, arrange of previous literature wasscanned, the historical back ground of development of geometry together with somegeometries were researched. It was also touched on some information on relatedwith the education of geometry and its curriculum in the secondary educationalschools within the body of The Ministry of Turkish National Education. The thirdchapter deals with the means and modes applied in this field. In the fourth chapter,we dealt with the data and interpretations obtained from the tests applied in somehigh schools in the city of Siirt, Turkey. The fifty chapter is concerned withconclusions and recommendations.Key words: Geometry, teaching geometry, the historical background ofgeometry, geometrical concepts, mathematics.
