Abstract
In this thesis study, bee plants and nectar, pollen and secretion groups were determined in some locations in Mersin central districts (Mezitli, Akdeniz, Yenişehir, Toroslar) between 2018-2022. As a result of field studies; A total of 430 plant taxa, including 387 species, 40 subspecies and 3 varieties, belonging to 63 families and 232 genus, which are sources of nectar, pollen and secretions for bees, were determined, and 31 of these taxa were determined to be endemic. Determined plants; The families they belong to, scientific names, names in the literature, nectar, pollen and secretion groups, the habitats they grow, the heights they grow, the active flowering periods and their medicinal, aromatic and poisonous properties are presented as a result of the research. In order of the first three families with the most taxa; Fabaceae (69 taxa), Lamiaceae (64 taxa) and Asteraceae (60 taxa) were determined, and the families containing 31 endemic plants; It has been determined that Lamiaceae, Fabaceae, Asteraceae, Iridaceae, Scrophulariaceae, Plantaginaceae, Brassicaceae, Boraginaceae and Rosaceae. Of the identified taxa; It was recorded that 330 were herbaceous, 64 shrubs and shrubs, 48 trees and shrubs, and 1 succulent. The distribution of species in phytogeographic regions is; 17% Mediterranean element (72 taxa), 16% Eastern Mediterranean element (70 taxa), 11% Iran-Turanian (47 taxa), 6% Europe-Siberian (24 taxa), 0% Hirkan- Black Sea (1 taxa) and % 50 Unknown (216 taxa). The results of this research; It will provide data and contribution to disciplinary studies in all fields of beekeeping and floristics.
