Social Value of Education in Samim Kocagöz's Novels Examining It in the Context of Gains
Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı, Cumhuriyet Dönemi toplumcu – gerçekçi sanat anlayışını benimsemiş öncü yazarlardan biri olan Samim Kocagöz'ün romanlarında eğitimin rolünü toplumsal değer kazanımları bağlamında incelemektir. Bu kapsamda araştırmanın inceleme nesnesini Samim Kocagöz'ün 10 romanı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin analizi, içerik analizi yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. İncelenen eserlerde toplam 197 eğitsel ileti tespit edilmiştir. Belirlenen eğitsel iletilerin kategorilere oransal dağılımı şu şekildedir: güç gelişimini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %15, başarı gelişimini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %13, geleneksellik gelişimini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %12, uyarılma gelişimini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %12, hazcılık gelişimini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %11, özyönelim gelişimini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %10, iyilikseverlik gelişimini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %9, evrenselcilik gelişimini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %8, güvenlik gelişimini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %6, uyum gelişmini destekleyen eğitsel iletiler %4'tür. İncelenen romanlarda frekans değeri yüksek olan iletiler: sosyal güç (f=15), hayattan tat almak (f=14), cesur olmak (f=14), toplumsal başarı (f=8), hırslı olmak (f=8), yardımsever olmak (f=6) iken; yakın çevrenin iyiliğini gözetmek (f=1), bağışlayıcı olmak (f=1), dindarlık (f=1), iyiliğe karşı iyilik (f=1), aile güvenliği (f=1) bağlılık duygusuna sahip olmak (f=1) iletilerinin frekans değeri düşük düzeydedir. İncenelen eserlerin değerler eğitimi açısından zengin bir içeriğe sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda çalışma konusunu oluşturan eserlerin, çocukların ve gençlerin milli ve kültürel değerlerini daha iyi öğrenerek benimsemelerini sağlamada katkı sunacağı umulmaktadır.
The aim of this research is to examine the role of education in the novels of Samim Kocagöz, one of the pioneering writers who adopted the Republican Period Socialist-Realist understanding of art, in the context of social value acquisitions. In this context, the research population of the study consists of 10 novels of Samim Kocagöz. Descriptive analysis technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The analysis of the data obtained was carried out by content analysis method. A total of 197 educational messages were identified in the analyzed works. The proportional distribution of the identified educational messages to the categories is as follows: educational messages supporting the development of power 15%, educational messages supporting the development of success 13%, educational messages supporting the development of traditionalism 12%, educational messages supporting the development of arousal 12%, educational messages supporting the development of hedonism 11%, Educational messages supporting the development of self-direction are 10%, educational messages supporting the development of benevolence are 9%, educational messages supporting the development of universalism are 8%, educational messages supporting the development of security are 6%, and educational messages supporting the development of harmony are 4%. The messages with high frequency values in the analyzed novels are: social power (f=15), enjoying life (f=14), being brave (f=14), social success (f=8), being ambitious (f=8), being helpful (f=6); while the frequency value of the messages of caring for the well-being of the close environment (f=1), being forgiving (f=1), piety (f=1), kindness for kindness (f=1), family security (f=1), having a sense of loyalty (f=1) are at low levels. It was determined that the works included in the study have a rich content in terms of values education. In this direction, it is hoped that the works that constitute the subject of the study will contribute to ensuring that children and young people learn and adopt their national and cultural values better.
