dc.description.abstract | Several recent taxonomic studies have been conducted on fungi in Africa but little is known about their taxonomy, ecology, occurrence, distribution and phylogenic placement of certain families such as Inocybaceae. About 80 species of Inocybaceae are known from the African continent compared to against 1,100 species in the world. This review addresses the state of knowledge in relation to the taxonomy, ecology and collection sites of Inocybaceae taxa from Africa, as well as the aspects to be explored to better document Inocybaceae in Africa in general and particularly in West Africa. © 2021, MRF.
