Women and Daily Life in Ahmet Mithat Efendi's Novels

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Ahmet Mithat Efendi' nin romanları üzerinden onun bakış açısını yansıtmayı ve kadın meselesini ekonomik arka planı verecek şekilde çeşitli yönlerini araştırmaktadır. Yazarın kadın konusuna nasıl yaklaştığı ortaya konulmakla beraber, kadınların ekonomik arka planı giyim, mücevher, alışveriş, haberleşme, aşk, para, hayal, cinsellik anne ve genç kız görünümleri üzerinden verilmeye çalışılmıştır. Ayrıca, kadınlar mesleki konum üzerinden de değerlendirilerek kadınların ekonomi ile ilişkisine dikkat çekilmeye çalışılmıştır.Ahmet Mithat Efendi, kadın konusuna ayrı bir yer vermesi dolayısıyla üzerinde durulması gereken bir yazardır. Ahmet Mithat Efendi' nin romanlarını değerlendirirken Osmanlı toplumuna dair veri kaynaklarına müracaat edilmiştir. Bu doğrultuda ekonomik arka plan verilirken yazarın da kadın konusu hakkında nasıl bir bakış açısına sahip olduğunu tespit etmek amaçlanmaktadır. Ayrıca Lefebvre' nin görüşlerinden de istifade edilerek çalışmaya farklı bir açıdan yaklaşılmaya gayret edilmiştir.

This study reflects Ahmet Mithat Efendi's point of view through his novels and investigates various aspects of the women's issue giving İTS economic bacground. While it is revealed hoş the author appoaches the subject of women, the economic bacground of women has been tried to ne given through clothing, jewelry,shopping, communication, love, money, the apperance of dream mothers and young girls.In addition, women were evaluated in terms of sexuality and professional position, and attempt was made to draw attention to economic point. Ahmet Mithat Efendi is an author that should be emphasized because he gives a special place to the issue of women. While evaluating Ahmet Mithat Efendi' s novels, data sources on Ottomen society were consulted. İn this respect, while giving the economic background, it is aimed to try to determine what kind of perspective the author has on the women issue. İn addition, an effort was made to approach the study from a different perspective by benefiting from Lefebvre's views.
