ÖZETBEND MAH ÇAYI'NDA VE ÇAYIN VAN GÖLÜ'NE DÖKÜLDÜĞÜNOKTADA DOĞAL RADYOAKT V TE SEV YES N N BEL RLENMESSELÇUK ZORER, ÖzlemDoktora Tezi, Kimya Anabilim DalıTez Danışmanı: Prof. Dr. Hasan CEYLANAralık 2006, 134 sayfaBu çalışmada, Bendimahi Çayı'na akışı olan yan kollardan, BendimahiÇayı'ndan ve çayın Van Gölü'ne döküldüğü noktadan toplanan su, sediment vetoprak örneklerinin içeriğindeki toplam alfa ve toplam beta radyoaktivite seviyeleribelirlenmiştir.Çalışma, Bendimahi Çayı'nın bulunduğu havzanın iklim bilgilerinedayanılarak en yağışlı ay olan Mayıs ve en kurak ay olan Ağustos aylarında ikimevsim olarak yürütülmüştür. Ölçülen aktivite değerleri bölgenin jeolojik oluşumuve mevsimsel değişimler açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Ayrıca su örnekleri için eldeedilen toplam alfa ve toplam beta radyoaktivite değerleri; suların ağır metalkonsantrasyonları, pH, iletkenlik ve sertlik parametreleri ile karşılaştırılmıştır.Toplam alfa ve beta radyoaktivite konsantrasyonlarını belirlemek için gazakışlı orantılı sayaç sistemi, ağır metal konsantrasyonlarını belirlemek için iseAtomik Absorpsiyon Spektrofotometresi (AAS) sistemi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilenradyoaktivite ve ağır metal konsantrasyonları için varyans ve korelasyon analizleriyapılmış, radyoaktivite ile ağır metaller arasındaki ilişki belirlenmiştir.Anahtar kelimeler: Ağır metal, Bendimahi Çayı, Doğal radyoaktivite, Toplam alfa,Toplam beta, Van Gölü

Measured activity values were evaluated in terms of geologicalformation of basin and seasonal variations. However, gross-alpha and gross-betaradioactivity values obtained for water samples were also compared withconcentrations of heavy metal, pH, the electrical conductivity and hardnessparameters.Low background proportional counter was used to determine radioactivityconcentrations of gross alpha and beta and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry(AAS) was used to determine concentrations of heavy metal.
