Determination of Antioxidant and Active Substance Contents of Some Species of Ganoderma P. Karst. Genus
Abstract
With this study, coffee formulations prepared from fruit bodies G. adspersum, G. applanatum and G. lucidum mushrooms were evaluated for antioxidant (FCR, FRAP, ORAC, DPPH, and metal chelation) and enzyme inhibitory (alpha-amylase, alpha-glucosidase, pancreatic lipase, and cholinesterase (AChE and BChE)) activities and bioactive composition. Experimental studies showed that G. lucidum formulation had the highest level of phenolics and higher antioxidant and enzyme inhibitory activities compared to G. applanatum and G. adspersum. Chromatographic studies showed that chemical composition of Ganoderma formulations composed of phenolic acids (chlorogenic, gentisic, p-hydroxybenzoic, caffeic, and protocatechuic acids) as major compounds. Obtained data showed that they might contribute database of nutraceuticals, mycotherapeutics and biotherapeutics agents prepared from Ganoderma species.
