Healthy Eating Attitudes and Determination of Social Appearance Anxiety Levels of Individuals Attending To Gym Physical Activity

Abstract
In this study, was examined that the relationship between healthy eating attitudes and social appearance anxiety levels of individuals attending to the gyms. A total of 298 people, 187 men and 111 women, who attending the gyms, participated in the study. As the data collection tool, was used “Personal Information Form’’ with “Healthy Eating Attitude Scale (HEAS)” scale developed by Tekkurşun Demir and Cicioğlu (2019), and developed by Hart and friends (2008) Turkish adaptation; whose validity and reliability study was proved by Doğan (2010), The 'Social Appearance Anxiety Scale'.In the analysis of the data; pearson moment correlation test, independent (unrelated) groups t-test, Post-Hoc test (Tukey HSD), one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) were used. Also, percentage and frequency analyzes were used.According to the findings obtained, a moderate significant difference in negative direction was found between the Attitude Scale for Healthy Eating and Social Appearance Anxiety Scales (p <, 05). As a result of the analysis, there is no statistically significant difference between the gender groups in the variances of healthy eating attitudes and social appearance anxiety levels according to gender (p>, 05).As a result; it is concluded that there is a decrease in individuals' social appearance anxiety levels. as the attitude scores of individuals who go to the gyms towards healthy eating increase. © 2021, Ataturk Universitesi.
