Determining the Physical Activity Levels of Youth Leaders Working in the Eastern Anatolia Region

Abstract
Amaç: Bu çalışma Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde görev yapan gençlik liderlerinin fiziksel aktivite düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Çalışmanın evrenini Doğu Anadolu Bölgesinde görev yapan 111 erkek 60 kadın toplam 171 gençlik lideri oluşturmakta olup, örneklemini ise bu illerde görev yapan 79 erkek 49 kadın toplamda 128 gençlik lideri oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada Uluslararası Fiziksel Aktivite Anketi (IPAQ) - kısa form kullanıldı. Verilerin analizi için ortalama, standart sapma analiz teknikleri kullanılmış olup farklılıkları belirlemek amacıyla One Way Anova, Independent Samples T testi uygulandı. Elde edilen veriler istatistiksel olarak p<0.05 düzeyinde değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Çalışma bulgularına bakıldığında Gençlik Liderlerinin Fiziksel Aktivite (FA) düzeylerinin 1742,3±11,81,0 MET-dk/hf olduğu, FA kategorisi bakımından %20,3 İnaktif, %21,9 minimal aktif, %57,8 ise çok aktif kategorisinde olduğu tespit edildi. Kadınların erkeklere göre fiziksel aktivite düzeyleri daha yüksek olup istatiksel olarak anlamlı bir sonuç tespit edildi (p<0,05). İllere göre FA düzeyinde ise Muş ili çok aktif, Elazığ ili inaktif kategorisinde olduğu görüldü. Sonuç: Gençlik liderlerinin cinsiyete göre FA düzeylerinde kadınların erkeklere göre daha iyi olduğu tespit edildi. Gençlik liderlerinin FA düzeylerinin illere göre dağılımlarında inaktif olan iller için gençlik liderlerine fiziksel aktiviteyi geliştirici programların yapılması ayrıca; seminer, sempozyumlarla fiziksel aktivitenin ne kadar önemli olduğu anlatılarak yaşam kalitesini artırabileceği söylenebilir. Ayrıca il müdürlüklerindeki personelden sorumlu idari amirlerle paylaşılıp çağımızın hastalığı olan obeziteyi, koroner kalp rahatsızlıklarını, diyabeti önlemeye yönelik kişileri FA'ya teşvik edici programların düzenlenmesi konusunda çalışmalar yapıla bilir.

The data obtained were statistically evaluated at the p<0.05 level. Results: According to the study findings, the Physical Activity (FA) levels of the Youth Leaders were 1742.3±11.81.0 MET-min/wk, 20.3% Inactive, 21.9% minimally active, 57.8% in terms of FA category. It was found to be in the very active category. Physical activity levels of women were higher than men, and a statistically significant result was found (p<0.05). According to the provinces, at the FA level, it was seen that the province of Muş was very active and the province of Elazig was in the inactive category. Conclusion: It was determined that women were better than men in the FA levels of youth leaders by gender. In the distribution of youth leaders' FA levels by provinces, for provinces that are inactive, programs to improve physical activity for youth leaders are also provided; It can be said that the quality of life can be increased by explaining the importance of physical activity through seminars and symposiums. In addition, studies can be carried out to organize programs that encourage people to attend FA for the prevention of obesity, coronary heart diseases and diabetes, which are the diseases of our age, by sharing with the administrative chiefs responsible for the personnel in the provincial directorates.
