Commentary of Selected Gazels From the Divan of Hoca Neş'et

Abstract

Hoca Neş'et, 18. yüzyıl Divan şairi olup dönemin önemli şahsiyetlerinden biri olarak kabul edilir. Divan sahibi olan şair, özellikle dönemin Farsça ve Mesnevi üstadı olarak tanınmış ve başta Şeyh Galip olmak üzere birçok önemli şairin yetişmesine vesile olmuştur. Şerh, geçmişi eski çağlara kadar uzanan önemli bir yazınsal faaliyet olarak bilinmektedir. İslam düşüncesinde, Kur'an yorumu olan tefsir çalışmaları ile şerh geleneği başlamış ve zaman içerisinde yaygın bir duruma gelmiştir. Zamanla birçok alanda bir gelenek haline gelen şerh faaliyeti edebiyat sahasında özellikle de Divan şiirinde önemli bir çalışma alanı olmuştur. Şiirlerdeki edebî sanatlar, mazmûnlar ve kalıpsal ifadeler gibi unsurların varlığı şiirlerin şerhedilmesini gerekli kılmıştır. Bu çalışmada Hoca Neş'et'in Divan'ından seçilmiş olan gazellerin şerhi yapılmıştır. Bu şekilde onun, gazellerinde ortaya koyduğu hususlar ortaya konulmaya çalışılmış ve böylece Hoca Neş'et ve gazellerinin daha iyi anlaşılmasına katkıda bulunulmuştur. Bunlar yapılırken sosyal bilimlerin temel araştırma yöntemleri olan doküman analizi, anlama, yorumlama, değerlendirme, mukayese etme gibi metot ve ilkelere başvurulmuştur.

Hoca Neş'et is an 18th century Divan poet and is considered one of the important personalities of his period. The poet, who is the owner of the Divan, was especially known as the Persian and Mesnevi master of the period, and thus he contributed to the training of many important poets, especially Şeyh Galip. Commentary is known as an important literary activity dating back to ancient times. In Islamic thought, the tradition of commentary started with tafsir studies, which is the interpretation of the Qur'an, and has become widespread over time. The commentary activity, which has become a tradition in many fields over time, has become an important field of study in the field of literature, especially in Divan poetry. The existence of elements such as literary arts, mazmuns and formulaic expressions in the poems necessitated commenting it. In this study, the annotations of the ghazals selected from the Divan of Hoca Neş'et were made. In this way, the issues he put forward in his ghazals were tried to be revealed and and thus contributed to a better understanding of Hoca Neş'et and his ghazals. While doing these, methods and principles such as document analysis, understanding, interpretation, evaluation, comparison, which are the basic research methods of social sciences, were applied.
