The Relationship Between Job Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment
Abstract
Hızla değişen, gelişen ve tüm dünyaya yayılan teknolojiye ayak uydurmak, sadece maddi kaynakların varlığıyla mümkün olmamaktadır. Bu kaynaklar geçici çözümler sunmaktadır. Oysaki örgütlerin tüm şartlara uyum sağlaması için daha güçlü kaynaklara ihtiyacı vardır. Bu kaynaklardan en önemlisi, her örgütte ayrı bir yere ve öneme sahip olan işgören yani insan faktörü olmuştur. Örgütlerin asıl amaçlarını oluşturan insan faktörü, iş tatmini ve örgütsel bağlılığa olan ilgiyi de arttırmıştır. Günümüzde iş tatmini ve örgütsel bağlılık unsurlarının örgütler açısından öneminin daha iyi anlaşılmasıyla, yapılan birçok bilimsel çalışmada bu iki unsur üzerinde daha çok durulmaktadır. Eğitim sektöründe de, birbirine paralellik gösteren bu iki konu bilimsel çalışmalara temel olmuştur. Eğitim sistemi sürekli tartışılmakta, öğretmenlerin sorunlarına geçici çözümler üretilmektedir. Ancak bu sorunlar tartışılırken akademik araştırmalardan faydalanmak ve bilimsel veriler kullanmak sorunlara daha gerçekçi ve kalıcı çözümler bulunmasını sağlayacaktır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Van ili ilk ve ortaokullarında görev yapan öğretmenlerin iş tatmini ile örgütsel bağlılıkları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Ankete katılan 490 öğretmenin iş tatmini ve örgütsel bağlılık arasındaki ilişki regresyon analizi ile incelenmiş ve bunun yanında iş tatmini ve örgütsel bağlılık düzeylerinin demografik farklılıklara göre değişiklik gösterip göstermediği incelenmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucu, örgütsel bağlılığın öğretmenlerin iş tatminleri üzerinde olumlu etkisi olduğu ve örgütsel bağlılık ile iş tatmini arasında pozitif ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. However, there must be more powerful sources for organizations to adapt to all these conditions. The most important of these resources is the human factor having a different role and significance in each organization. The human factor which is the main purpose of the organizations has increased the interest in job satisfaction and organizational commitment as well. Nowadays, with a better understanding of the importance of job satisfaction and organizational commitment in terms of the elements of organizations, many scientific studies have been done by mostly focusing on these two factors. These two subjects, paralleling to one another, has been fundamental to the scientific studies in the education sector. Education system is constantly being debated, temporary solutions are produced for the problems of teachers. However, while discussing these issues, it is more realistic to take advantage of academic research and scientific data in order to get durable solutions to the problems. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the primary and secondary schools teachers' job satisfaction and organizational commitment in the province of Van. The relationship between job satisfaction and organizational commitment in 490 teachers who joined the survey has been examined by regression analysis and also, it has been argued whether job satisfaction and organizational commitment levels show any differences according to demographic changes or not. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that organizational commitment have a positive impact on teachers' job satisfaction and I concluded that there was a positive relationship between organizational commitment and job satisfaction.
