The Effects of Vocational Quidance Services in the Higher Education on the Selection of Fields at Universty

Abstract

Bu araştırma, ortaöğretim kurumlarında yapılan mesleki rehberlikçalışmalarının üniversitedeki alan seçimine etkisini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.Bu amaçla eğitim fakültesi öğrencilerinin rehberlik hizmetlerinin verilme düzeyineilişkin görüşlerine başvurulmuştur.Araştırma giriş, literatür taraması, yöntem, bulgular ve yorumlar ve özet-sonuç-öneriler olmak üzere 6 bölümden oluşmuştur.1. Giriş bölümünde (I.Bölüm), araştırmanın problemi, amacı, önemi,sınırlılıkları ve araştırmada geçen tanımlara yer verilmiştir.2. II. Bölümde araştırmanın konusu ile ilgili literatür taramasına yer verilmiştir.Bu bölümde, rehberlik hakkında bilgi verilmiş, rehberliğin amacı ve önemikonularına değinilmiş ve mesleki rehberlik konusu anlatılmıştır.3. III. Bölümde ilgili araştırma ve yayınlara yer verilmiştir.4. IV. Bölümde araştırmanın yöntem bilgilerine yer verilmiştir.5. V. Bölümde araştırmanın bulgu ve yorumlarına yer verilmiştir.6. VI. Bölümde araştırmanın özeti, sonucu ve önerileri yer almaktadır.Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak anket ve ölçek kullanılmıştır. Ölçek,öğrencilerin öğrenim gördükleri bölüme ilişkin tutumlarını ölçmek amacıylakullanılmıştır.Araştırmada anketin birinci kısmından elde edilen veriler; cinsiyet, mezunolunan lise türü ve öğrenim görülen bölüm değişkenlerine bağlı olarakkarşılaştırılmış ve yorumlanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrenciler ile ilgili kişiselbilgiler tablolar halinde verilmiştir. Yine anketin birinci kısmında rehberlik servisineilişkin görüşleri cinsiyet, lise türü ve öğrenim görülen bölüme göre anlamlı düzeydefarklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını belirlemek amacıyla Kay-kare testi uygulanmıştır.Anketin ikinci kısmında, öğrencilerin öğrenim gördükleri bölüme ilişkintutumlarını ölçmek için ANOVA (Varyans Analizi)testi yapılmıştır. Yineöğrencilerin öğrenim gördükleri ölüme ilişkin tutumlarının cinsiyet, lise türü veöğrenim görülen bölüme göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını ölçmekiçin de Mann Whitney U ve Kruskal Wallis H testlerinden faydalanılmıştır.Anlamlılık düzeyi .05 olarak alınmıştır.

This research study has been conducted in order to determine the effects ofvocational guidance services carried out in the secondary education institutions onthe selection of fields in the higher education.Regarding this aim, views of students at the Faculty of Education about thedegree of guidance service they receive have been taken into consideration.The research study consists of six parts as follows: Introduction, review ofliterature, method, data analysis, discussion and summary-results-suggestions1- In the introduction, research questions, aim, importance, limitations and thekeywords of the research study are presented.2- In the second part, a review of literature on the topic is given. In this part,background information on guidance is presented, the aim and significance ofguidance are dwelled on and vocational guidance is discussed.3- In the third part, the related research studies and publications are discussed.4- In the fourth part, there is information on the method of the research study.5- In the fifth part, the findings and discussion of the study are given.6- In the sixth part, a summary-results-suggestions section is present.As the data collection tools, a questionnaire and a scale have been used. Thescale has been used in order to assess the perceptions of the students about theirdepartments.The findings of the first part of the questionnaire have been compared andinterpreted according to the following variables: gender, type of high school theygraduated from and their departments at university. Personal information about thestudents who have participated in the study is given in the form of tables.A Kay-square test has been carried out in order to determine whether there is asignificant difference between the perceptions of students on the guidance service inthe first part of the questionnaire and gender, the type of high school they graduatedfrom and their departments. In the second part of the study, an ANOVA (VarianceAnalysis) test has been used to assess the perceptions of the students on theirdepartments.Moreover, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H tests have been used inorder to determine whether there is a significant difference between the perceptions ofthe students on their departments and gender, the type of high school they graduatedfrom and their departments. The significance level is for this study is .05.
