Zygmunt Bauman Re-Grounding of Freedom and Morality

Abstract

Bu çalışmada moderniteyi eleştirip postmodernitenin gerekliliğini vurgulayan, fakat daha sonra fikir değiştirip modernite ve postmoderniteyi haklı bulmadığını söyleyerek tüm dikkatleri üzerine çeken Zygmunt Bauman'ın özgürlük ve ahlak anlayışı ele alınmıştır. Fakat bunun öncesinde İlkçağdan başlayarak postmodern döneme kadar özgürlük ve ahlakın filozoflar tarafından nasıl temellendirdiği ele alınmıştır. Bu bağlamda Bauman'ın Holocaust ile ilgili görüşüne, 'bahçe kültürü' metaforuna, modern ve postmodern bireyin durumunu resmeden 'serseri-turist-hacı' metaforuna, daha sonra modernite ve postmodernite ile ortaya çıkan üretim-tüketim toplumu ayrımına ve son olarak modern ve postmodern dönemde varlığıyla adından çok söz ettiren entelektüel sınıfa yani yasa koyucular ve yorumcular sınıfına yer verilmiştir. Ve nihayetinde bu çalışmada tüm bunları ele almamın nedeni Bauman'ın özgürlük ve ahlakı nasıl yeniden temellendirdiğini gözler önüne sermektir.

In this study, Freedom and Morality of Zygmunt Bauman, who emphasized on the necessity of postmodernity by criticizing modernity and then changed the idea and said that he did not justify modernity and postmodernity, was discussed. But before that, from the first to the postmodern period, how the Freedom and Morality was based on philosophers was discussed. On the other hand in this study Bauman's view on Holocaust, the metaphor of 'garden culture', the metaphor of the 'punk-tourist-pigrim' which depicts the state of the modern and postmodern individual, thereafter the differentiation of the production-consumption society emanating from Modernity and postmodernity and lastly the reputable intellectual class-namely Legislators and commentators- in modern and postmodern era were mentioned. Eventually, the reason why I addressed all these in this study reveals how Zygmunt Bauman reconfirmed Freedom and Morality.
