Examination of Cultural Routes as a Tool for the Protection of Natural and Cultural Heritage in the Example of Lake Van Basin

Abstract

Eski çağlardan beri insanlar yaşayış tarzıyla, gelenek-görenekleriyle, ürettikleri sanat ürünleriyle kendilerine özgü kültürel değerler meydana getirir. Doğal ve kültürel değerler korunup geleceğe taşınması gereken varlıklardır. Bu çalışmada hem coğrafi konumuyla önemli bir yere sahip olan hem de tarihte pek çok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmış Van Gölü Havzası'ndaki doğal ve kültürel değerlerin korunmasında kültürel rota önerisi veya önerileri getirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Kültürel rotalar belli bir aks üzerindeki somut ve somut olmayan kültürel ve doğal mirasın korunmasını sağlarken kültürel turizme de destek olmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında Van Gölü Havzası'ndaki doğal ve kültürel değerlerin korunmasını sağlayarak bu değerleri sürdürülebilir kültür turizmine katmak, yöre halkı için turizm kaynaklı ekonomik gelir sağlamak ve bölgesel kalkınmayı desteklemek hedeflenmektedir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle kültürel rotalar ile ilgili temel kavramlar, ulusal ve uluslararası kuruluşlar ve anlaşmalar, kültürel rota kavramının gelişim süreci, rota tipleri ve örnekleri gibi kuramsal çerçeve detaylı bir şekilde incelenmiştir. Ardından çalışma alanının tarihi, kültürel, doğal dokusu ve alanın fiziki şartları ele alınmıştır. Sonuç olarakVan Gölü Havzası'nda yaşamış ve önemli eserler bırakmış Büyük Selçuklu Medeniyeti ve Havza'da yer alan diğer medeniyetlere ait kültürel miras değerlerinin doğal değerlerle ilişkilendirildiği ana ve alt kültür rotası önerileri yapılmıştır.

Since ancient times, people have created unique cultural values with their lifestyles, traditions and art products. Natural and cultural values are assets that should be preserved and transferred to the future. In this study, it is aimed to propose a cultural route or suggestions for the protection of natural and cultural values in the Van Lake Basin, which has an important place with its geographical location and has hosted many civilizations in history. While cultural routes ensure the protection of tangible and intangible cultural and natural heritage on a certain axis, they also support cultural tourism. Within the scope of the study, it is aimed to protect the natural and cultural values in the Van Lake Basin, to add these values to sustainable cultural tourism, to provide tourism-based economic income for the local people and to support regional development. In this study, first of all, the theoretical framework such as the basic concepts of cultural routes, national and international organizations and agreements, the development process of the concept of cultural route, route types and examples were examined in detail. Then, the historical, cultural, natural texture of the study area and the physical conditions of the area are discussed. As a result, main and sub-culture route suggestions were made, in which the cultural heritage values of the Great Seljuk Civilization and other civilizations in the basin, which lived and left important works in the Van Lake Basin, are associated with natural values.
