An Ecocritical Approach To Latife Tekin's Novels

Abstract

Doğal çevre, bir canlının yaşaması ve neslini devam ettirebilmesi için gerekli olan uygun ortamdır. Bu doğal çevrenin sakinlerinden biri olan insan, içerisinde bulunduğu çevreyi sürekli olarak değiştirme ve dönüştürme çabası içerisindedir. Bu nedenle, doğa ve insan arasındaki zorunlu birliktelik tarihsel süreç içerisinde birçok farklı evreden geçerek yeniden şekillenmektedir. Bu değişim ve dönüşüm sürecinde insanın doğal çevre üzerinde olumsuz etkiler bıraktığı da açıktır. Geliştirilen insan merkezli düşünce sistemleri neticesinde ekolojik sorunlar, küresel anlamda günden güne etkisini arttıran başat problemlerden biri haline gelmektedir. Bu kötü gidişatın durdurulabilmesi için günümüzde çeşitli girişimler söz konusudur. Neredeyse bütün alanlarda görülebilen bu girişimler, kurgusal düzlemde de çevre hassasiyeti ön planda olan yazarlar tarafından dillendirilmektedir. Ekolojik sorunları kurgusal düzleme taşımayı amaçlayan ekoeleştirel yaklaşım, bu doğrultuda edebi eserlere belli sorumluluklar yüklemektedir. Türk edebiyatında 1980 sonrasında eser vermeye başlayan Latife Tekin, bu minvalde dikkat çeken yazarlardan biridir. Latife Tekin, kaleme aldığı romanlarında insanın doğa karşısındaki benmerkezci tutumunu ifşa etmekte ve doğadan yana tavır koyan düşünce biçimlerinin özünü kurgusal evrene taşımaktadır. Çevre hassasiyetini özellikle feminist ve sosyalist dünya görüşüyle birleştiren Latife Tekin, ekoeleştirel anlamda birer protesto özelliği taşıyan eserleriyle Türk yazın geleneğinde bir dönüm noktasıdır. Latife Tekin'in Türkiye toplumunun folklorik unsurlarıyla harmanladığı romanları, insanoğlunun tarihi süreç içerisinde değişen doğa algısını ortaya koyması açısından önemlidir. Bu çalışmada insanın doğa karşısındaki benmerkezci tutumuna karşı geliştirilen ekoeleştirel düşüncenin kuramsal çerçevesi çizilmiş ve bunun Latife Tekin'in romanlarındaki yansımalarına odaklanılmıştır. Ayrıca ekoeleştirel düşüncenin etkileşimde olduğu temel disiplinler ve ideolojiler olan Derin Ekoloji, Toplumsal Ekoloji, Ekososyalizm, Ekofeminizm, Ekofaşizm ve Ekopsikoloji'nin de yazarın eserlerindeki takibi yapılmıştır.

The natural environment is the appropriate environment necessary for a living being to survive and survive. One of the inhabitants of this natural environment, people are in an effort to constantly change and transform their environment. Therefore, the compulsory unity between nature and man is reshaped through many different phases in the historical process. It is clear that in this process of change and transformation, human beings have negative effects on the natural environment. As a result of the developed human-centered thought systems, ecological problems are becoming one of the major problems that increase their impact day by day. There are various attempts today to stop this bad trend. These initiatives, which can be seen in almost all areas, are also voiced by writers who are at the forefront of environmental sensitivity in the fictional plane. The eco-critical approach, which aims to bring the ecological problems to the fictional plane, places certain responsibilities on the literary works accordingly. Latife Tekin, who started to write in Turkish literature after 1980, is one of the authors who draw attention in this regard. Latife Tekin, in his novels, reveals the self-centered attitude of man to the nature and brings the essence of the ways of thinking that stands for nature to the fictional universe. Latife Tekin, which combines environmental sensitivity especially with the feminist and socialist world view, is a turning point in the Turkish literary tradition in an eco-critical sense with its protest works. Latife Tekin's novels, which blends elements of folklore with the people of Turkey, is important in the process of perception reveal the changing nature of the history of mankind. In this study, the theoretical framework of eco-critical thinking developed against the egocentric attitude of man against nature is drawn and its reflections in Latife Tekin's novels are focused. In addition, the main disciplines and ideologies, in which eco-critical thinking interacts, Deep Ecology, Social Ecology, Ecosocialism, Ecofeminism, Eco-fascism and Ecopsychology have been followed in the author's works.
