The Concept of Charity in Hadith
Abstract
Kelime kökü ?doğruluk olan bu kavram, Allah'a kurbiyyet amacıyla yapılan her türlühayırperverliğe verilen addır. Sadaka kavramı Kur'an'da ve hadislerde çokça kullanılan birkavramdır. Bu kavram Kur'an'da, zekât, mehir, gönüllü bağış, Allah rızası için verilen borç,Kefaret anlamlarında kullanılmıştır. Hadislerde sadaka daha geniş anlamlarda kullanılmıştır.Zekât anlamında onun müradifi olarak; zekât kelimesinin yerine kullanılmıştır. Ancak sadakakavramı zekât anlamından daha geniş bir anlama sahiptir. Zekât, sınırlı mali bir ibadeti veyaverilmesi zorunlu şer'i bir vergiyi kapsarken, sadaka bu anlamı aşarak, gönül rızası ile verilenmaddi yardımları, güzel bir davranışı, insanlar arsında adaleti sağlama ve hatta çoğu kezesirgediğimiz tebessüm anlamlarında kullanılmaktadır. ?Her iyilik sadakadır? hadisi şerifi ileiyilik kavramının içini nasıl doldurursak veya iyilik nedir? Sorusuna verdiğimiz her cevapsadaka anlamına gelmektedir.Bu bakımdan sadaka verilmesi zorunlu şer'i bir vergi veya gönül rızası ile verilenküçük yardımların yanı sıra, toplumun huzur ve saadeti ve sağlıklı bir toplum için yaptığımızdavranışlar anlamına gelmektedir.
Which means ?truth and charity? in etimological sense Sadaqa, is the name of anykind of charity and benevolence that is performed in order to be closer to God. The consept isoftenly used in Qur?an and the sayings of the Prophet (Hadith). The consept is used in thesense of zakat,mehir, volunteer donation, the loan given for the sake of God and atonement.n the sayings of the Prophet, sadaqa has a broader sense than zakat, and it is used as asynonym aus of zakat. But it has a broader meaning than zakat. While zakat means a certainpercentage of his hoarded cash or a religious tax (islamic tax) which is to be given to the poorevery year, sadaqa goes far beyond this sense and refers to any sort of material and volutarilydonations, or a good deed practice the judge, or even a smiling which we withoold from thepeople. As it finds its best expression in the hadith, ?Every favor is sadaqa? sadaqa is theanswer to the guestion of what the favor or goodness is.In this respect, rather than an obligatory Islamic tax to be given or small amounts ofmoney to be given voluntarily,sadaqa means all sorts of good deeds we perform for the sakeof society?s peace and felicity and healty.
