A Review on the United Caucasia Journal (1964-1967)
Abstract
Ağustos 1951'de Ali Han Kantemir başkanlığında Batı Almanya'nın Münih şehrinde yayın hayatına başlayan 'Kafkasya Dergisi'(Der Kaukasus) Ocak 1953'de ismini 'Birleşik Kafkasya' (Vereinigtes Kaukasien) olarak değiştirip yayın hayatına devam etmiştir. 1963'de Ali Han Kantemir'in vefatından sonra dergi Barasbi Baytugan yönetiminde 'Obyedınennıy Kavkaz' (Birleşik Kafkasya) ismiyle Rusça basılmıştır. 1964'de Havjoko Ahmet Canbek'in aracılığıyla Barasbi Baytugan 'Obyedınennıy Kavkaz' Dergisini İstanbul Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi öğrencisi Yılmaz Nevruz'a devretmiştir.
'Kafkasya Magazine' (Der Kaukasus), which started its publication life in Munich, West Germany in August 1951 under the chairmanship of Ali Han Kantemir, changed its name to 'United Caucasus' (Vereinigtes Kaukasien) in January 1953 and continued on its way. After the death of Ali Han Kantemir in 1963, the magazine was published in Russian under the name 'Obyedinenniy Kavkaz' (United Caucasus) under the direction of Barasbi Baytugan. In 1964, through Havjoko Ahmet Canbek, Barasbi Baytugan handed over the 'Obyedinenniy Kavkaz' Journal to Yılmaz Nevruz, a student at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. Thus, in August 1964, the 'United Caucasus' Magazine began its publication life in Turkish in Istanbul. The owner of the magazine was Yılmaz Nevruz and the editor-in-chief was Mustafa Beştoy. The first seven issues of the journal, which aims to be published every three months, were published as a single, and the 8-9, 10-11-12 and 13-14-15 issues were published together. United Caucasus Magazine, which brought together various articles, poems, stories, reports and other articles about the North Caucasus, continued its publication life until 1967.
