A Study on Botanical Composition and Hay Yield of Pastures in Çaldiran District of Van

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Van ili Çaldıran ilçesine bağlı Avcıbaşı köyü ve Koçovası köyü meralarında yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada; meraların bitki ile kaplı alanı, botanik kompozisyonu ile yaş ve kuru ot verimlerinin değerleri saptanmıştır.Çalışma sonucunda bitki ile kaplı alan; Avcıbaşı köyü meralarında % 87.7, Koçovası köyü meralarında % 84.4 olarak saptanmıştır. Botanik kompozisyonu; Avcıbaşı köyü meralarında % 21.8 buğdaygiller, % 8.6 baklagiller ve % 69.6 diğer familyalar, Koçovası meralarında ise % 7.5 buğdaygiller, % 4.7 baklagiller ve % 87.8 diğer familyalar olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Kuru ot verimleri Avcıbaşı ve Koçovası köyü meralarında sırasıyla 65.9 kg/da ve 54.4 kg/da olarak bulunmuşturThis study was conducted in pastures of Avcıbaşı and Koçovası villages of Çaldıran District of Van Province. The plant coverage areas, botanical compositions, and hay yields were recorded.The area covered with plant in the pastures of Avcıbaşı village was determined as 87.7 % while that was 84.4 % in the pastures of Koçovası village. The grasses and legume species contributed to the floristic composition with 21.8 % and 8.6 %, respectively, and species from other families was determined as 69.6 % in Avbcıbaşı. The botanical composition in the pastures of Koçovası village was determined as 7.5 % grasses, 4.7 % legumes, and 87.8 % other plant families. Hay yields were found to be 6.59 and 5.44 kg ha-1 in Avcıbaşı and Koçovası villages, respectively.
