Tens Group in Contemporary Turkish Painting and Their Social Realistic Aspects

Abstract

Bu çalışmada 1946-1955 yılları arasında varlığını sürdürmüş On'lar grubunun Çağdaş Türk Resim Sanatımızdaki yeri ve önemi vurgulanmıştır. Evrensel değerlere bağlı kalan bu grup Türk halk sanatımıza özgü biçim, renk, motif ve kompozisyon değerlerinden yola çıkarak milli ve yerel karaktere bürünmüş, ulusal değerlere sahip özgün bir kimlik yaratmaya çalışmıştır. Cumhuriyetin ilanından sonra devletin sanatı ve sanatçıyı desteklemesi, burs imkânı sağ-laması, Avrupa ya sanatçı göndermesi, halk evlerini açması, yurt Gezileri düzenlemesiyle yerel geleneksel değerlerimizi yansıtmaya yönelik gayreti resim sanatımızda grupların ve sanat akım-larının gelişmesini sağlamıştır. 1940'lar da Anadolu gezilerine katılan Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, bu gezilerde edindiği tec-rübe ve izlenimleri kendine has yaratıcılıkla Bati resminin çağdaş öğelerini, Doğu sanatlarının yerel değerleriyle kaynaştırma yoluna gitmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda 1946'da Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu atölye öğrencileriyle Onlar Gurubunu kurmuştur. Yöresel halk sanatımızdan ve gele-neksel folklorik değerlerimizden esinlenen bu grup, II Dünya savaşından sonra meydana gelen ulusçuluk hareketinden ilham alarak yerel değerde, ulusal özgün bir kimlik oluşturmaya çalış-mıştır. II. Dünya savaşının yarattığı yıkım, toplumsal başkalaşım, çok partili döneme geçiş, siyasi uyanış, kültürel hareketlilik, uluslaşma, tarım ve sanayileşme politikaları, köyden kente göç, işçi sınıfının ortaya çıkması, çarpık kentleşme, işsizlik gibi sorunlar, Toplumsal Gerçekçi akımın ve figürlü anlatımın Çağdaş Resim Sanatımıza girmesine, aynı zamanda On'lar grubu sanatçılarının bir bölümüne kaynak sağlamasına neden olmuştur. This study emphasizes the importance of The Tens Group which existed between the years of 1946-1955 and its role on Contemporary Turkish Painting. Remaining connected to the universal values this Group, tried to establish a unique national identity that inspires from Turkish folk art forms, colors, motifs and compositions. After declaration of the Turkish Republic the state supported the artists- provided scho-larships and sent them abroad to study Art. The state also opened public houses and arranged trips through the homeland. All these efforts to reflect local traditional values, resulted in devel-opment of the art groups and movements in Turkish Plastic Arts. Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu participated to these Anatolian trips in 1940 and tried to harmon-ize his experiences and impressions with the Contemporary elements of Western painting and Eastern Art. For this purpose, in 1946, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu has established The Tens Group with his students. The Group inspired from our folk art and traditional folkloric values, and at-tempted to create a unique national identity in local values from the inspiration that occurred after The World War II. The problems such as the devastation of World War II, social metamorphosis, multiparty period, political awakening, cultural mobility, nationalism, agriculture and industrialization poli-cies, rural-urban migration of the working class, rapid urbanization and unemployment, caused social realism and figurative art movements to enter into our contemporary painting and also provide resources to some artists of the Tens Group.
