Zeyd B. Thabit and His Role in Qira'at Science

Abstract

Ġslâmî Ġlimlerde kendisinden ve ilminden faydalanılan Zeyd b. Sâbit, Kur‟ân ilimlerinde ve Kıraat Ġlminde, ashap arasında hüccet kabul edilen isimlerdendir. Hz. Peygamber‟in (s.a.v) vahiy kâtibi olması, ashap arasında kıraatine en çok baĢvurulan isim olması, Kur‟ân‟ın, cem‟ ve istinsahında komisyon baĢkanı seçilmesi ve her ne kadar günümüze ulaĢamamıĢsa da kendine ait bir Mushaf‟ının olması kendisini kıraat ilminde ayrı bir konuma oturtmuĢtur. Zeyd b. Sâbit‟in, ilmî Ģahsiyetini ve Hz. Peygamber ile geçen saadet dolu anılarını ele aldığımız bu çalıĢmada; 'Kıraat kendisine tabi olunan bir sünnettir.' sözüyle ilk dönem Ġslâmî eserlerde Zeyd‟e isnat edilen kıraat rivâyetlerini iĢlemeye çalıĢtık. ÇalıĢmamız giriĢ ve iki bölümden oluĢmaktadır. GiriĢ kısmında çalıĢmanın konusu, amacı ve metodu hakkında teknik bilgiler verilmiĢtir. Birinci bölümde Zeyd b. Sabit‟in hayatı ve ailesi hakkında genel bilgiler verildi. Ġkinci bölümde ise Hz. Zeyd‟in Ġslâm‟a ve Kur‟ân‟a hizmetleri, Ġslâmî ilimlere katkısı, Kur‟ân kıraatlerine dair rivâyet ve yorumları kadim kaynaklar ıĢığında incelenip, kıraat ilmindeki konumu ve önemi ortaya konulmaya çalıĢılmıĢtır.

Zayd b. Thabit is one of the names accepted as reference among the Companions in the Sciences of the Qur'an and the Science of Qira‟at. His being the Prophet's revelation scribe, the name most frequently used for his qira‟at among the Companions, his election as the head of the commission in the collection and although it has not survived to the present day, the fact that he has a unique Mushaf has placed him in a different position in the science of qira‟at. In this study, in which we try to process Zayd b. Thabit's scientific personality and his blissful memories with the Prophet, we tried to process the qira‟at narrations attributed to Zayd b. Thabit in the early Islamic works with the statement 'Qira‟at is a sunnah that is followed.'. Our study consists of an introduction and two parts. In the introduction, technical information about the subject, purpose and method of the study is given. In the first chapter, general information about Zayd b. Thabit's life and his Islamic identity is given. In the second chapter, Zayd b. Thabit's services to Islam and the Qur'an, his contribution to Islamic sciences, the narrations and interpretations of the Qur'anic recitations are examined in the light of ancient sources, and his position and importance in the science of qira‟at are tried to be revealed.
