Abstract
Dünyada çevre duyarlılığı arttıkça çevre konularının eğitim öğretim müfredatlarında yer alma oranı da artmıştır. Ülkemizde bu gelişime ayak uydurarak çevre konularının en büyük bileşeni olan biyolojik çeşitlilik konusunu, lise düzeyinden ortaokul seviyesine indirerek, öğrenci ile erken dönemde buluşturmuştur. Bu araştırmada, Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı ortaokullara yönelik uygulanan Fen Bilimleri ders programında 5.Sınıf 6. Ünite İnsan ve Çevrenin ilk bölümü olan biyolojik çeşitlilik konusu ele alınmıştır. Yapılan araştırmada şiir etkinlikleri ile öğretim ortamının zenginleştirilmesi ve öğrencinin aktif katılımının sağlanarak akademik başarılarına, kavram öğrenmelerine ve çevreye karşı pozitif tutum geliştirme süreçleri araştırılmıştır. Çalışmaya konu olan katılımcılar 2023-2024 eğitim öğretim yılı, Van İli Edremit İlçesindeki bir Ortaokulda öğrenim görmektedirler. Bu katılımcılar 5. Sınıf öğrencisi olup toplam 40 kişi olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırma, karma desen yöntemi kapsamında ele alınmıştır. Nicel bölümde yarı deneysel desen, nitel bölümde durum çalışmasına göre şekillenmiştir. Deney ve kontrol gruplarını içeren bu çalışmada kontrol grubunda düz anlatım yöntemiyle bir ders planı oluşturulurken deney grubunda şiir etkinliğinin ön planda bulunduğu bir ders planı uygulanmıştır. 5. sınıflara yönelik uygulanan biyolojik çeşitlilik şiir etkinliğinin öğrencilerin konu kapsamında tutum ve bilinç düzeylerine olan etkisinin belirlenmesi için ''Çevresel Tutum Ölçeği (ÇTÖ), Akademik Başarı Testi (ABT), ve 5 öğrenci ile yürütülen Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme (YYG)'' kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan testlerden elde edilen nicel veriler SPSS 18.0 veri analiz programında analiz edilmiştir. Nitel verilerin analizinde içerik ve betimsel analiz tekniği kullanılmıştır. Deney ve kontrol gruplarından elde edilen sonuçlara bağımsız gruplar t-test analizi uygulanmıştır. Yapılan bu veri analizleri sonucunda deney gurubu lehine anlamlı bir fark olduğu, Biyolojik çeşitlilik konusunun ortaokul 5.sınıf öğrencilerine şiir ile öğretiminde daha etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
As environmental awareness increases in the world, the rate of inclusion of environmental issues in education and training curricula has also increased. Our country has kept pace with this development and brought the subject of biodiversity, which is the largest component of environmental issues, from high school to middle school level, and introduced it to students at an early age. In this research, the subject of biodiversity, which is the first section of the 5th Grade 6th Unit Human and Environment in the Science curriculum applied to middle schools by the Ministry of National Education, was discussed. In the research conducted, the processes of enriching the teaching environment with poetry activities and ensuring the active participation of the students, their academic success, concept learning and developing a positive attitude towards the environment were investigated. The participants in the study are studying at a middle school in Edremit District of Van Province in the 2023-2024 academic year. These participants are 5th grade students and a total of 40 people were determined. The research was handled within the scope of the mixed design method. The quantitative section was shaped according to the semi-experimental design and the qualitative section according to the case study. In this study, which included experimental and control groups, a lesson plan was created with the direct narration method in the control group, while a lesson plan in which poetry activity was at the forefront was implemented in the experimental group. In order to determine the effect of the biodiversity poetry activity applied to 5th graders on the attitudes and awareness levels of the students within the scope of the subject, ''Environmental Attitude Scale (ÇTÖ), Academic Achievement Test (ABT), and Semi-Structured Interview (SSI) conducted with 5 students'' were used. The quantitative data obtained from the tests used in the study were analyzed in the SPSS 18.0 data analysis program. Content and descriptive analysis techniques were used in the analysis of qualitative data. Independent groups t-test analysis was applied to the results obtained from the experimental and control groups. As a result of these data analyses, it was concluded that there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group and that the subject of biodiversity was more effective in teaching poetry to 5th grade secondary school students.
