An Application for the Flipped Classroom Model Supported by the Educational Information Network (ein): Sound and Its Features Unit
Abstract
İnsanoğlunun teknoloji ile olan bağı gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Bu durum teknolojinin, çeşitli disiplinlerin öğretilmesinde kullanılan yöntem ve tekniklerin arasında yer almasını sağlamıştır. İngilizce adı 'Flipped Classroom' olan ve Türkçeye 'Ters Yüz Sınıf Modeli' olarak çevrilen yöntem son yıllarda dünyada ve ülkemizde yaygınlaşmaya başlamıştır. Bunun yanı sıra, iletişim teknolojilerinin gelişmesi ile birlikte sosyal ağ kullanımında da artış yaşanmaya başlanmıştır. Bu durum sosyal ağların öğrenme ortamı olarak kullanılmasının önemini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu düşünceden yola çıkarak bu araştırmanın amacı, Eğitim Bilişim Ağı (EBA) destekli Ters Yüz Sınıf Modeli (TYSM) uygulamalarının altıncı sınıf öğrencilerinin Ses ve Özellikleri ünitesi kapsamında, öğrenmeye yönelik sorumluluk alma becerileri ve algılanan öz düzenleme becerileri üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktır. Araştırmada yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2021-2022 eğitim öğretim yılında Van ili Tuşba ilçesinde bir ortaokulda 6. sınıfta öğrenim gören deney grubunda=19 kontrol grubunda=20 öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 39 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada nicel veri toplama aracı olarak Öğrenmeye Yönelik Sorumluluk Ölçeği (ÖYSÖ), Algılanan Öz Düzenleme Ölçeği (AÖDÖ) nitel veri toplama aracı olarak da yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme ve öğrenci günlükleri formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen nicel veriler; bağımlı t-testi, bağımsız t-testi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Nitel veriler ise içerik analiz ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçları incelendiğinde; EBA destekli TYSM'nin altıncı sınıf öğrencilerinin ÖYSÖ ve AÖDÖ becerileri üzerinde olumlu etkisi olduğu belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca EBA destekli TYSM hakkında öğrenciler; sorumluluklarını arttırdığını, öz güvenlerini geliştirdiğini, bilgilerin kalıcı olduğunu ve eğlenceli olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. EBA'nın TYSM için uygun bir platform olduğu düşünülmektedir. Bundan dolayı ders videolarının yüklenmesinde ve izlenmesinde yaşanılan zorlukların giderilmesi ve içeriklerin arttırılması gerekmektedir. The connection of humans with technology is increasing day by day. This has enabled technology to take its place among the methods and techniques used in teaching various disciplines. The model, which is called Flipped Classroom in English and Translated into Turkish as the Ters Yüz Sınıf Modeli has started to become widespread in the world and in our country in recent years. In addition, with the development of communication Technologies, there has been an increase in the use of social networks as a learning environment. Based on this idea the aim of this research is to investigate the effects of 'Educational İnformation Network' (EBA) supported 'Flipped Classroom Model' (TYSM) applications on 6th-grade students' ability to take responsibility for learning and their perceived self-regulation skills within the scope of the 'Sounds and Features' unit. The semi-experimental method was used in the research. The study group of the research was carried out with a total of 39 students, 19 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group studying in the 6th grade in a school in the town of Tuşba in Van province in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the research, the scale of responsibility for learning, perceived self-regulation scale as a quantitative data collection tool, semi-structured interview, and student's diaries form as qualitative data collection tools were used. Quantitative data obtained in the study were analyzed by using dependent t-test and independent t-test. Qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis. When the results of the research were examined, it was observed that Educational Information Network-assisted Flipped Classroom had a positive effect on the 6th-grade students' responsibility for learning and perceived self-regulation skills. In addition, students stated that they increased their responsibilities, improved their self-confidence and information was permanent and fun about the Educational Information Network-supported Flipped Classroom Model. It is thought that Educational Information Network is a suitable platform for Flipped Classroom. Therefore, it is necessary to eliminate the difficulties experienced in uploading and watching course videos and increasing the content.
