Abstract

The thermophysical properties of geothermal resources of Azerbaijan (Peshtesar in Yardimli), Germany (Bali-Therme in Bad Oeynhausen), Russia (Pyatigorsk), and Turkey (Keklik Magara and Afyon) were analyzed over the parameter range of interest, i.e., (p,ñ,T) behavior, density, vapor pressure, viscosity, and chemical compounds. Using the (p,ñ,T) data, a comprehensive and accurate thermodynamic EOS over a specified range of parameters, which are of interest in renewable energy research, was developed. Empirical correlations for the density of the geothermal resources as a function of pressure and temperature as well as for the vapor pressure and viscosity results were developed. These equations were applied to calculate various thermophysical properties of these resources.
