Ruscus Hypoglossum L. Antioxidant, Antiradical Properties, Trace Elements (cu, Zn, Fe, Co, Cd, Cr, Mn, Pb), Minerals (ca, K, Mg, Na) and Vitamin C Levels

Abstract

Bu çalışmada; Ruscus hypoglossum L. bitkisinin yapraklarının metanol ekstresinde antioksidan, antiradikal aktiviteleri, iz elementler, mineraller ve vitamin C analizleri yapıldı. Ruscus hypoglossum L. bitkisi Adana' nın Seyhan ilçesinde, Mayıs-Haziran aylarında toplandı. Bitkinin antioksidan ve antiradikal aktiviteleri ise Ruscus hypoglossum L. bitkisinin yaprak kısımlarının metanol ekstraktlarında toplam antioksidan kapasitesi, DPPH radikali giderme aktivitesi, total indirgeme kapasitesi, metal şelatlama aktivitesi, hidrojen peroksit giderme aktivitesi, süperoksit giderme aktivitesi, ABTS radikali temizleme özelliği, total fenolik ve flavonoid miktarı spektrofotometrik olarak, iz elementler ve mineraller ise ICP-OES kullanılarak belirlendi. Bulunan sonuçlar, referans antioksidanlar trolox, BHT, BHA ve α-tokoferol ile karşılaştırıldı. Elde edilen değerlerin bir sonucu olarak Ruscus hypoglossum L. bitkisinin yapraklarının metanol ekstrelerinde yüksek hidrojen peroksit giderme aktivitesi, süperoksit giderme aktivitesi, total antioksidan kapasitesi total fenol, flavonoid, vitamin C ve mineral içeriğine sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bulunan verilerin ileride yapılacak çalışmalarda referans değer olarak kullanılabileceği düşünülmektedir. Anahtar kelimeler: Ruscus hypoglossum L., Antioksidan kapasite, Vitamin C, mineral

In this study; it was made analyzes of the antioxidant, antiradical activities in the methanol extract, trace elements (Cu, Zn, Fe, Co, Cd, Cr, Mn, Pb), minerals (Ca, K, Mg, Na) and vitamin C analyses in the plants leaves. The plant Ruscus hypoglossum L was found in the Seyhan region of Adana (Turkey), in may/june. The plants antioxidant and antiradical activities Ruscus hypoglossum L. are the methanol extract of the leaves' total antioxidant activity, DPPH scavenging activity, reducing power, chelating activity on ferrous ions, Hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity, superoxide anion radical scavenging activity, DPPH scavenging activity, total phenolic and flavonoid assay spectrophotometrically, trace elements and minerals contents are determined using ICP-OES. The results found was compared with the reference antioxidants trolox, BHT, BHA and -tocopherol. The result of the values obtained in the methanol extract of Ruscus hypoglossum L leaves showed that it contains high hydrogen peroxide scavenging activity, superoxide anion radical scavenging activity, total antioxidant activity total phenol, flavonoid, vitamin C and minerals contents. The giving of these findings is thought to be used as a reference values in future studies. Key words: Ruscus hypoglossum L., Antioxidant capacity, Vitamin C, minerals
