İnsel C. Care and Shelter Condition of Newborn Calf in Van Provience, Tuşba

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Van ilinde büyükbaş hayvancılığın yoğun olarak yapıldığı ilçelerden biri olan Tuşba ilçesinde büyükbaş hayvan işletmeleri ve buzağıların bakımı ve barınak şartları incelenmiştir. Bu maksatla Van ili Tuşba ilçesinde 227 adet büyükbaş hayvan işletmesi sahiplerine buzağıların bakım ve barınma şartları ile ilgili soruları içeren anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre; işletme sahiplerinin %17'sinin okul okumadığı, %45'inin ise sadece ilkokul mezunu olduğu görülmüştür. Yetiştiricilerin %62'sinin birliğe üye olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca %32'sinde 11-20 arası doğum yapan hayvan olduğu, %62'sinde son bir yılda 1-3 arası buzağı ölümü olduğu, %58'inde buzağı ölümlerinin ishal kaynaklı olduğu, %30'unda göbek kordonu bakımının sadece antiseptikli iple yapıldığı, %61'inin buzağı bölmesi bulundurmadığı, %38'inin kuru dönem aşılaması yapmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bunların dışında işletmelerin %34'ünde buzağıların ilk 6 saatte 1-2 litre kolostrum tükettiği, işletmelerin %29'unda buzağılara 20. gün su ve kesif yem verilmeye başlandığı ve %40'ında ise 60. gün kaba yem verilmeye başlandığı, ortalama buzağı ölümlerinin ise %10.97 olduğu saptanmıştır. Bu bilgiler ışığında buzağılar işletmelerin devamlılığı bakımından en önemli unsurdur. Bu nedenle buzağıların bakım ve barınak şartlarının daha da iyileştirilmesi ile buzağı kayıplarının en aza indirilmesi gerekmektedir.

In this study, ıt is investigated care and shelter condition of cattle in Tuşba that is one of the place where the livestock is made intensively in Van provience. Therefore a survey was conducted on to 227 stockbreeder about care and shelter condition of calf in Van provience, Tuşba. As a result of the survey application ıt was seen that 17 percent of stockbreeder didn't go any school, 45% of them are graduated from primary school. It was determined that 62% of the stockbreeders are not members of the union. In addition, ıt was made firm that 32% of the animals are giving birth between 11-20, 62% of this livestock had 1-3 calf deaths in the last year, 58% of calf deaths are based on diarrhea, umbilical cord care was performed only with antiseptic rope on 30% of them 61% of these livestock operation do not have calf compartments, 38 percent of in these livestock did not vaccinated in dry period. Apart from these, it is determined that calves consume 1-2 liters of colostrum into the first 6 hours in 34% of these livestock operation, calves are fed with water and concentrate feed on the 20th day in 29% of these livestock operation, and roughage feeding is started on the 60th day in 40% of these livestock operation, mean calf deaths were found to be 10.97%. In the view of such information calves is most important in terms of business continuity. Therefore, calf losses should be minimized by further improving the care and shelter conditions of calves
