The Development of Nationalism and Nation Identity Construction Republican Period in Turkey

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, milliyetçiliği kuramsal ve kavramsal olarak analitik bir düzlemde açıklamaya çalışmak, Avrupa'da ortaya çıkışını ve gelişiminin Türkiye üzerinde nasıl zuhur bulduğunu ortaya koymak olacaktır. Bu bağlamda millet ve milliyetçiliğin modern dönemin birer unsurları olup olmadığı ifade edilirken hangi kavramın diğerini yarattığı incelenecek ve bu inceleme esnasında öne sürülmüş yaklaşımlar analiz edilerek indirgemeci bir bakış açısından uzak durulacaktır. Avrupa'dan ortaya çıkıp tüm Dünya'ya hızlı bir şekilde yayılmakta olan milliyetçilik düşünceleri analiz edilirken, örnek olarak gösterilen ülkelerin konjonktür yapıları göz önünde bulundurulacak, milliyetçiliğin bu ülkelerde hangi görevi tamamlamak için ortaya çıktığı analiz edilecektir. Nihayetinde Türkiye'de ortaya çıkan ve gelişen Türk milliyetçiliği açıklanmaya çalışılırken dönemin siyasal, ekonomik ve toplumsal yapıları dikkate alınarak eleştirel bir tutum sergilenecektir.

The aim of this study is try to explain nationalism as an analytical plane theoretical and conceptual, the occurence of and development of in Europe will be reveal how appearance on Turkey. In this context, when expressing whether nation and nationalism are elements of the modern period, which concept created the other will be examined and the approaches proposed during this examination will be analyzed and a reductionist perspective will be avoided. The conjuncture structures of the countries shown as examples will be taken into consideration when analyzing the ideas of nationalism that emerged from Europe and spreading rapidly all over the World, nationalism will be analyzed in order to complete which task in these countries. Eventually, while trying to explain Turkish nationalism revealing and developing in Turkey considering the political, economic and social structures of the period a critical attitude will be exhibited.
