Occupational Health and Safety Risks and Measures in Constructions in the Example of Van Province

Abstract

Genellikle iş sağlığı, iş kazaları ve buna binaen gerçekleşen ölümler üzerine açılan konular söz konusu olduğunda inşaat sektörü çok sık ele alınmaktadır. Bu alanda çok sık tartışılan inşaat sektöründeki durumu takip edebilmek ve bu konudaki güncel trendleri ortaya koyabilmek oldukça önemlidir. İnşaat ile ilgili bütün sistemin faaliyetlerini içeren sektöre inşaat sektörü denir. Ülkemiz ekonomisinde çok büyük yer tutmakta olan inşaat sektörü; meydana gelen iş kazalarıyla önemli derecede sağlıksal, sosyal ve ekonomik sorunlara yol açmaktadır. Ülkemizde her yıl binlerce kişinin ölümü veya iş göremezliği ile sonuçlanan çok sayıda iş kazası meydana gelir. Ekonomik kalkınmaya katkısı olan inşaat sektörü, proaktif yaklaşımın öngördüğü tedbirlere bağlı olarak iş kazalarının daima olduğu bir sektördür. İstatistiklere göre Türkiye'de her yıl yaklaşık 400.000 iş kazası meydana gelmektedir. İş kazası sonucu doğrudan ve dolaylı maliyetler yaklaşık 10 milyar dolar olarak hesaplanmıştır. Bu tezde ülkemizdeki iş kazalarına engel olmaya yönelik belirlenen tedbirler insan sağlığı ve inşaat sektörü açısından incelenmiştir. Konu ile ilgili açıklamalar yapılmış, güncel istatistik verileri çizelgeler haline getirilmiş ve inşaat sektöründe iş kazalarının analizi iş güvenliği bağlamında değerlendirilip risklere uygun çözüm önerileri sunulmuştur.

Generally, when it comes to topics on occupational health, work accidents and deaths resulting from this, the construction industry is discussed very often. It is very important to be able to follow the situation in the construction sector, which is frequently discussed in this field, and to be able to reveal the current trends in this regard. The sector that includes the activities of the whole system related to construction is called the construction sector. The construction sector, which has a great place in our country's economy; Occupational accidents cause significant health, social and economic problems. In our country, many occupational accidents occur every year, resulting in the death or incapacity of thousands of people. The construction sector, which contributes to economic development, is a sector where occupational accidents always occur depending on the measures foreseen by the proactive approach. According to statistics, approximately 400,000 occupational accidents occur in Turkey every year. Direct and indirect costs as a result of work accidents have been calculated as approximately 10 billion dollars. In this thesis, the measures determined to prevent work accidents in our country are examined in terms of human health and the construction sector. Explanations on the subject were made, current statistical data were tabulated, and the analysis of occupational accidents in the construction sector was evaluated in the context of occupational safety and appropriate solutions were presented for risks.
