Trainer Opinions on Auxiliary Materials Used in Violin Education
Abstract
It is thought that individuals who take violin education or who are at the beginning stage of violin education will need supplementary materials that they will grasp abstract concepts beyond the control of the teacher after long-term studies and will permanently reinforce what they have learned. Auxiliary materials that can solve the problems experienced by the students and that the individual can use on their own can be found in different options today. The starting point of the research was to bring these materials together with violin students and educators in order to contribute to violin education and to learn the targeted behaviors easily. In this study, it is aimed to determine the views of educators about the auxiliary materials used in violin education. In order to achieve this aim, the opinions of the educators, whose branch is violin and who give violin education in Turkey, on the use of auxiliary materials were taken. In this study, which is qualitative research, the 'Survey' model, one of the descriptive research methods, was used. The universe of the research consists of music educators in Turkey whose branch is violin. The sample of the research consists of 50 music educators in Turkey, whose branch is violin. A semi-structured interview form was applied to violin educators in data collection. The data on the usage status of the auxiliary materials used in violin education are given in tables by making percentage frequency analysis. It has been concluded that the majority of violin educators think that auxiliary materials will be more beneficial for individuals who take violin education at an early age and who are new to violin education, but that they can negatively affect violin playing without materials in the future.
