Abstract

Köken olarak 'seçme', 'seçilme' anlamlarına gelen Elit sözcüğünün kullanımı 17. yüzyıla denk gelse de 20. yüzyıl da yaygınlık kazanmıştır. Vilfredo Pareto, Gaetano Mosca gibi aydınların geliştirdikleri teori başta olumsuzluk atfeden bir terim olmasına rağmen kendisini geliştirmeyi başarmıştır.
