Allah-ü Teâlâ, insana yaratılıs gayesini bildirmek için peygamberlergöndermistir iste bu peygamberlerden biri de Hz. İbrahim'dir. Hz. İbrahim, islam veYahudi kaynakların yanı sıra, tarihi belgelerdeki verilere göre de yasamıs tarihi birsahsiyettir.Kur'an-ı Kerim'de tevhid inancının tebliğcisi ve temsilcisi olarak takdimedilen Hz. ?brahim, vahye dayanan iki büyük dinin (Yahudilik ve ?slamiyet) temeldayanak noktalarından biri olarak görülmektedir.Hz. ?brahim, bu iki büyük din tarafından övülen bir peygamberdir. Her iki dinde onun kendi dinine mensup olduğunu kabul etmistir. Fakat Kur'an-ı Kerim bukonuda son noktayı koymus ve Hz. ?brahim'in Allah'a teslim olanlardan olduğunusöylemistir.Tevrat, Hz. ?brahim'i bir peygamber olarak kabul etmesine rağmen onunmesajından çok hayatından söz etmektedir.Kur'an-ı Kerim ise Tevrat'ın aksine Hz. ?brahim'in hayat hikâyesinden çokonun mesajından ve tevhid mücadelesinden söz etmektedir.Tevrat'ta bahsedilen Hz. ?brahim ile Kur'an-ı Kerim'de bahsedilen Hz.?brahim hakkındaki kıssaların ve bilgilerin benzer yanları olsa dahi üslup ve içerikyönünden farklılıklar arz etmektedir.Hz. ?brahim, her iki dinin beslendiği çok önemli bir peygamberi kaynaktır.Bunun için Yahudilerin ve Müslümanların Hz. ?brahim'den alacakları çok önemlimesajları vardır. Zaten bu iki dinde Hz. ?brahim'in temel felsefesi korunmus ve heriki din mensubu için bu mesajlar, bir hayat felsefesi meydana getirmistir.

Allah Almighty has sent many prophets to let human being know the purposeof creation and ?brahim is the one of them, who has been seen as an importantpersonality according to the historical documents as well as Islamic and Jewishsources.?brahim, in the holy Quran, in that he has been introduced as advisor andprophet, is the one of the mainstays of the two big religions ( Islam and Judaism)founded on the revelation.?brahim has been praised a lot in both religions and universally accepted thathe had been belonged to his own religion. But, The Holy Quran punctuated this topicand declared that he was submitted to Allah. But on the other hand, Although TheTorah accepts him as an prophet, it addresses his life rather than his messages.Contrary to The Torah, The Holy Quran has given big emphasis on hismessages rather than his life and clearly tells on his struggle for the unity belief.Albeit, there has been an allied subject in spite of the anecdotes andinformation on ?brahim given by the both, there are considerably importantdifferences in terms of idioms and contents.The Prophet ?brahim is a prophet hood source which the two big religionsbenefit from. Thus there are many messages which Jewish and Muslims understandfrom Abraham. Besides, in both religions, the main philosophy of ?brahim has beenshielded and his messages, for the members of these religions, has constitutes aphilosophy of life.
