Abstract

This thesis, which deals Mr. Mustafa Sabri who is one of the most dominant figures among Islamists at the Second Constitutional Period in Ottoman History with his life and political opinions, is made up of three chapters. In Chapter One, the dimensions of intellectual and political structures of this period are brought to light. In Chapter Two, Mustafa Sabri's lifetime, work and his scholarly personality are taken into considerations. In the Last Chapter, his political reflections and approaches are evaluated. In consequence of this study we see that although The Party of Union and Progress regarded and defended the Second Constitution as an administrative mode without supporting it with any religious claim, Mustafa Sabri saw the Constitutional Movements of this period fit to Islamic perspectives.
