Job Satisfaction and Career Satisfaction: an Application on Bank Employees
Abstract
Her bireyin çalışma yaşamı içinde elde etmek istediği bazı bireysel ve genel hususlar olması muhtemeldir. Bu bağlamda bireylerin genel olarak çalışma yaşantıları içinde meslekî anlamda ilerlemeyi ifade eden kariyer konusunda tatmin olması ve yaptığı işten memnun olması gerekli görülmektedir. Ancak bu gereklilikler tek başına bireyin beklentilerine göre şekillenmemektedir. Diğer bir ifadeyle bireylerin bahsedilen alanlardaki tatmin hususları belirli bazı kriterlere göre şekillenmektedir. Bireylerin çalışma yaşantılarında doğrudan etkili olan hususlardan kariyer tatmini ve iş memnuniyeti gibi temel noktaların baz alındığı bu tezin amacı, banka çalışanlarının meslekî yaşantıları içindeki kariyer tatminleri ve iş memnuniyetleri üzerinde, bireysel faktörler olarak değerlendirilen eğitim, cinsiyet, çalışılan yapı içindeki görev, yaş vb. değişkenlerin etkisinin olup olmadığı gibi hususların tespit edilmesidir. Bu doğrultuda hazırlanan araştırma, Van ili İpekyolu ve Tuşba ilçelerinde faaliyet gösteren özel bankalarda çalışan, 194 çalışana uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler yapısal eşitlik modeliyle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma bünyesinde yapılan korelasyon analizi sonucunda; bireylerin iş uyumu ve kendilerini yapmış oldukları işe ait hissetme durumları ile kariyer tatmini arasında orta düzeyde pozitif yönlü bir ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Buna ek olarak iş tatminsizliği, iş memnuniyetsizliği, iş yardımseverliği ve işe aykırılıkla kariyer tatmini arasında ise düşük yönde pozitif bir ilişki olduğu sonucuna da ulaşılmıştır. Elde edilen bu sonuçlardan hareketle bireylerin yaptıkları işe uyumlu olmaları ile kendilerini işe ait hissetmeleri ve bu bağlamda kariyer tatmini yaşamaları arasında diret bağlantı olduğunu söylememiz mümkündür.
It is likely that there will be some individual and general aspects that each individual wishes to achieve in his working life. In this context, it is considered necessary for individuals to be satisfied with the career, which expresses professional progress in their working life, and to be satisfied with the work they do. However, these requirements are not shaped by the expectations of the individual alone. In other words, the satisfaction of individuals in the mentioned areas is shaped according to certain criteria. The aim of this thesis, which is based on the basic points such as career satisfaction and job satisfaction, which are directly effective in the working life of individuals, is to examine the career satisfaction and job satisfaction of bank employees in their professional lives, which are considered as individual factors, such as education, gender, task in the working structure, age, etc. It is to determine the issues such as whether the variables have an effect or not. The research prepared in this direction was applied to 194 employees working in private banks operating in Van province İpekyolu and Tusba districts. The obtained data were analyzed with the structural equation model. As a result of the correlation analysis made within the scope of the research; It has been concluded that there is a moderate positive relationship between individuals' job adaptation and their feeling of belonging to the job they have done and career satisfaction. In addition, it was concluded that there was a low positive relationship between job dissatisfaction, job dissatisfaction, job helpfulness, and job disorientation and career satisfaction. Based on these results, it is possible to say that there is a direct connection between individuals' being compatible with their job and their feeling of belonging to the job and career satisfaction in this context.
