Abstract

ÖZET NİLPOTENT GRUPLARIN INTEGRAL GRUP HALKALARINDA BURULMALI BİRİMSELLER ARI, Kamil Doktora Tezi, Matematik Anabilim Dalı Tez Danışmam : Prof. Dr. Abdurrahim YILMAZ Ekim 2001, 42 sayfa Bu çalışmanın birinci bölümünde literatür bildirişi, ikinci bölümünde, daha sonraki bölümlerde kullanılacak olan bazı temel tanım ve teoremler verildi. Üçüncü bölümde, metadevirli olmayıp metabelian bir grubun integral grup halkalanndaki sonlu mertebeli elemanları karakterize edilmiş ve Zassenhaus'un bir konjektürünün gerçeklenişi bu grubun sonlu mertebeli elemanları üzerine uygulanmıştır. Dördüncü bölümde, nilpotent metabelian gruplardaki burulmak birimsellerin izi ve keyfi bir grupta burulmalı birimsellerin katsayılar toplamı tartışıldı. Son bölümde ise, sonsuz nilpotent gruplar ile Zassenhaus konjektürü arasındaki bağıntı incelendi. ABSTRACT TORSION UMTS IN INTEGRAL GROUP RINGS OF NILPOTENT GROUPS ARI, Kamil Ph.D.Department of Mathematics Supervisor : Prof. Dr. Abdurrahim YILMAZ October 2001, 42 pages This thesis consists of five chapters. In the first and second chapters, literature notices and some fundamental definitions and theorems which will be used in the later chapters were given respectively. In the third chapter, the torsion elements of the integral group ring of metabelian but not metacylic groups are characterized and one of the Zassenhaus' conjectures is verified. In the fourth chapter, trace of torsion units in nilpotent metabelian groups and the sum of coefficients of torsion units in arbitrary groups have been discussed. In the last chapter, relation between infinite nilpotent groups and Zassenhaus conjecture was examined.
